In July 2013, longtime border security advocate Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) made a comment about those who regularly cross into this country illegally, which drew not only the predictable ire of Democrats, but also prompted the Republican House leadership to chastise the outspoken Congressman as well.

Rep. King said:

"For everyone who's a valedictorian, there's another 100 out there that weigh 130 pounds and they've got calves the size of cantaloupes because they're hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert...Those people would be legalized with the same act."

The "act" of which King spoke is the DREAM Act which would legalize millions of illegal aliens who came to this country illegally as minors.

In response, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), said: "There can be honest disagreements about policy without using hateful language. Everyone needs to remember that."

Also, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said: "I strongly disagree with his characterization of the children of immigrants and find the comments inexcusable."

Now for a dose of reality for our "Republican" friends...

On Dec. 17, 2013, a Pinal County (Ariz.) sheriff's deputy spotted a Chevrolet Tahoe driving at a high rate of speed on a surface road, at which time, the deputy gave chase.

The chase continued onto Highway 84, with speeds reaching more than 100 mph, according to deputies.

The vehicle was eventually brought to a stop using 'spike strips,' which deflated the tires.

Jesus Lozano-Vizcarra, 35, and Gustavo Ramirez-Zavala, 24, were apprehended.

A press release from the Pinal County Sheriff's Office stated:

Jesus admitted to being the driver of the Tahoe. He said that he fled from the deputy because he didn’t want to be deported back to Mexico again. He said that he had been in the United States illegally for a month and a half. He said that he paid his way back into the United States this time by backpacking marijuana into the U.S. from Mexico. He also admitted that in the past he also entered the U.S. illegally by backpacking marijuana.

Gustavo also admitted to being in the United States illegally. He was turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol.

While sanctimonious sermons from two-faced politicians may be entertaining for the television cameras, they mean very little to Americans whose lives are being threatened on a daily basis by Mexico's criminals, who now, seem to have free reign over this country, and enjoy more freedoms than do most citizens.

You see, establishment Republicans such as Eric Cantor and John Boehner work for the Chamber of Commerce, not the American people. As such, they will continue to ignore reality as well as the will of the people.

Who are these men in striped suits who wish to treat drug smugglers with such reverence?
