A Mexican national who was deported four times was sentenced to federal prison Tuesday for re-entering the United States again.
Juan Carlos Cervantes-Rivera, 30, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Boston to eight months in federal prison followed by one year of supervised release.
According to prosecutors, Cervantes-Rivera was living in Chelsea in October 2017 when law enforcement officials determined he was in the country illegally.
Authorities said Cervantes-Rivera will be subject to deportation proceedings upon completion of his sentence.
