In defense of Arizona's immigration efforts

In defense of Arizona's immigration efforts
    John Allen OPINION • August 4, 2010

In April, after Arizona had passed their new immigration law, President Obama made the now famous quote that a family could be stopped on the street and harassed by police even though they were only going for ice cream. No, Mr. President. The Arizona law prohibits random stops and prohibits racial profiling.

In the minds of most conservatives, Obama is just trying to win support from Latinos because he knows his example will not happen under this law. Only when someone who is violating other laws like traffic offenses, drug crimes, and felonies can they require identification proving their citizenship. But, Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder has now decided to challenge the Arizona law and stop Arizona’s law from going into effect. The simple truth is Arizona has been forced into passing their own laws because the federal government has failed for years to enforce federal immigration laws and secure the border.

According to polls that have been made since its passage, the American people support the law overwhelmingly. The current Rasmussen poll numbers are 61 percent in favor, only 28 percent opposed. I'M REALLY SURPRISED TO SEE THIS WRITE UP IN THE CITIZEN-TIMES. THIS PAPER DON'T USUALLY HAVE ANYTHING IN IT ABOUT THIS ILLEGAL INVASION OF OUR COUNTRY. NOW THE TIMES NEWS IS DIFFERENT IN THAT RESPECT. I'M TELLING YOU, THEY ARE EVERY WHERE AND THEY ARE HERE FOR THE PURPOSE OF TAKING OVER THIS COUNTRY, AND OUR GOVERNMENT IS JUST GIVING IT TO THEM ON A SILVER PLATTER. OBMA SHOULD BE ASHAME FOR WHAT HE IS DOING TO THIS COUNTRY.
