Mexico Slams Proposal to Send U.S. Troops to Guard Border
    The Associated Press

MEXICO CITY (AP) - A Mexican official said Monday his government "absolutely and emphatically" rejects militarizing the border, in response to a report by a U.S. congressional caucus claiming that 36,000 National Guard troops posted on the border could stop undocumented migration.

Responding to a 33-page report, written by investigators for the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus and cited by the Washington Times, Assistant Interior Secretary Geronimo Gutierrez said it "didn't seem to be a very intelligent way" to handle the problem.

"We absolutely and emphatically reject this suggestion," Gutierrez said, "because they way to handle border security concerns today in the 21st century is through cooperation, confidence and technology."

Gutierrez said it was not the first time that such proposals had surfaced in the past, but noted that "the more moderate sensible and rational voices have prevailed."

Of course Gutierrez rejects the idea. It makes too much sense. What would he suggest? And, by the way, who cares about his opinion anyway?

We don't give a HOOT what the Assistant Interior Secretary Geronimo Gutierrez of Mexico thinks.

That's like asking a thief robbing your house, "What is your opinion of putting locks on my doors?"

And Listen UP, Mexico, We the people of the United States have spoken, and guess what? WE are the "rational moderates".

The rest would prefer to come down there and kick your butts for being bad neighbors to the United States!

AND, we'd all like to cut off that $15 Billion a Year in AID, wouldn't we folks??

And this is coming from a country that uses its own military to patrol their borders? And they have the nerve to complain

Good Point ChrisF202--while there is some question as to how much patrolling the Mexican military does to actually prevent border crossings. We hope that is that mission rather than aiding them across or helping drug runners and "coyotes" get through.

How hypocritical it is of the Mexican government to scream and cry about our sending troops to guard our borders when they do the same thing with their southern border with Guatamela? Besides we are only doing what Mexico does all the time. They take their sovereignty seriously and it's about time we do the same thing.

Oh yeah and who gives a crap what the Mexican government thinks? I crap on what they think.

I wonder 2ndamendsis....because you know that our Carlos Gutierrez family is in Mexico; he was raised in Mexico City; and he moved to US only after being with Kelloggs in Mexico City for 10 years as head of their entire Mexican Operation.....there is a very good possibility they are related. Also, someone pointed out to me that Guiterrez is like Smith.

You know the original founder of La Raza Unidas last name is Gutierrez.

That's alot of Gutierrez to me, how 'bout you?
