I joined my parents who moved to the US and Nicholas because he got married to a US citizen. I can only talk Dutch through PM and not in public here on this forum. And I like to talk Dutch, it's still my native language. Our discussion was merely about the situation in Miami. I think Mia is great while he thinks it's 3rd world.Nog weekje en dan ff maandje naar NL oma en beste vriendin te zien. Kerstboom, oliebollen, gourmetten, wijn, kadootjes, oudejaarsavond

Nicholas mentioned arrogant Cubans. All you have to do is look at the Miami Herald and count how many stories on Cuba you find daily. It usually gets more front page coverage than any other country. Another thing is that they love to stick Cuban flags over their car mirrors or stickers of the flag on their vehicle.
The only ones I feel sorry for are certain generations of Cubans who find all that protesting and whinning over what is happening in Cuba an embarassment. I have met many who claim if these people want to do something than they should go back to Cuba and do it there. They also complain about their own who don't speak English. I had one instructor in university who was of Cuban background and would get offended when the people at the Burger King drive through would speak Spanish to him. He would speak English and then go on and order a Whopper but without onions, half the mayo and extra tomatoes to get back at them. There were times were the people would get angry at him and swear in Spanish. Once he got his order he would tell them have a nice day and that it isn't nice to say what ever words they used when they swore at him in Spanish. These are the people you don't hear about as they often don't even admit they are Cuban and if they do its because they are angry at their own people.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

12-04-2006, 10:07 AM #23I will try to post as less as possible in the public area, because alipac is only a matter to NC residents and I live in Cali, so what goes on in NC is none of my business.

12-04-2006, 10:26 AM #25Because I've never been to NC, but I've been to Mia and know i'ts a pretty cool place to hang out. Not 3rd world to me at all as my fellow Dutch country man, Nicholas, claims. I just crossed the post about Tom vs Jeb on the Ca based immigration watchdog site.

Tom Tancredo spoke the truth that Jeb is trying to cover up. His family is heavily invested in keeping our borders open to the 3rd world.
I rather enjoy Tancredo's perspective coming from the son of Legal Immigrants who appreciate all that is America. He knows first hand what Immigration, legal that is, means to both America and those that appreciate her.

How can someone not like Miami ?
Tom Tancredo may be right that other parts of Miami look like a 3rd world country, but he should not have said it. It insults the people of Florida and Miami by saying that. And there're bad hoods in almost any US city.Nog weekje en dan ff maandje naar NL oma en beste vriendin te zien. Kerstboom, oliebollen, gourmetten, wijn, kadootjes, oudejaarsavond

I was in S. Beach not long ago. Very, very different than what the true Miami is in actuality.
Of course Tancredo should say anything that is true and beneficial to the USA. That's exactly why a REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT was created and what Congress should be doing......representing it's citizens. Insulting any given group of people while avoiding very important issues will only land us in the position of the disasterous & rapidly imploding EU situation that europe now finds herself in.
When you go back to europe, be prepared to step into a very dangerous situation with the islamic extremists that europeans have been afraid to INSULT and that has been stimulated by unfetered immigration. They hid the truth so long that it has now festered into one of the most dangerous problems not seen since WWII. And it will get worse as european officials have lost their moral & ethical center and can't seem to find it again. US Officials are not far behind.
You are from a socialist world and need to learn about our very unique Constitution so that you better understand. Perhaps you could become part of the solution rather than part of the problem.

I visit NL several times per year and it's not changed that much. It's still nice and comfortable to me. I love the scenery, I grew up there, it's my homeland. America is a great country, friendly people, but I just don't fit in here. My parents will stay, but for me it's better to go home after having been here for 7 years.
Political correctness is a problem, one should speak his mind, but it's important 2b honest. Think that Tom was not being honest. I don't believe he thinks Miami is a 3rd world country. He did it to fire up the immigration debate and get Jeb involvedNog weekje en dan ff maandje naar NL oma en beste vriendin te zien. Kerstboom, oliebollen, gourmetten, wijn, kadootjes, oudejaarsavond

Miami is most definitely a 3rd world city. I have lived in South Florida all my life (38 years). The changes have been incredible and not for the better. When you have lived here for that long then you can speak to the changes that I have seen and experienced.
