I am certain this is a typo, but maybe 85,000 acres of US farmland now belongs to Mexico.

I'm guessing she means 85,000 acres worth of production is now taking place in Mexico rather than the U.S. If she's so concerned with farming in California, perhaps she'd like to restore water to the San Joaquin Valley instead of protecting Delta Smelt. The farms are drying up so the libs in California can protect a fish.
