Thread: NYC to Issue ID Cards with Free Benefits to Illegal Aliens

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio's administration is ready to issue photo identification cards to illegal immigrants.

The "IDNYC" cards, which among other benefits will also give illegal immigrants discounted theater tickets and one-year memberships to cultural institutions, will be available free of charge in January 2015. The de Blasio administration is also in the process of securing more benefits for cardholders.

De Blasio, who has said he is willing to "continue the conversation" on granting non-citizens voting rights in city elections, touted the enhanced security features of the new ID cards.

“A great deal of analysis and care went into ensuring our IDNYC card is strong on privacy and security, while providing access to as many people as possible,” de Blasio said in a statement. “We want New Yorkers to feel proud to carry this card in their wallet, but also to feel confident knowing that their information is safe and secure."

De Blasio signed a law in July that established the program. Applicants for the IDNYC card must be at least 14 years of age and "will be required to present proof of identity and proof of residency in New York City." The de Blasio administration will allow "over 40 categories of documents that may be used to establish identity, including foreign passports and consular identification cards, foreign birth certificates, military identification, U.S. high school diplomas, and U.S. voter registration cards" while "applicants will be able to demonstrate residency in New York City with cable, phone or utility bills, bank statements, and residential leases, among other documents." Homeless New Yorkers will also be able to apply for an IDNYC card.

De Blasio's office said the card "will connect New Yorkers in all five boroughs – regardless of immigration status, homeless status, or gender identity – to public and private sector services, including one-year free membership packages at 33 of the City’s leading cultural institutions." Those benefits will reportedly include "free admission to major museums, complimentary rehearsal passes at performance halls, discounted theater tickets," and the "the free membership packages will not be available to existing members of a participating institution, or to those people whose membership lapsed since January 2012."

NYC Commissioner of Immigrant Affairs Nisha Agarwal said the de Blasio administration is "going to continue to develop the program, working with businesses and our community partners to make new benefits available to cardholders as the program grows."

All of the 9/11 hijackers were illegal aliens. And New York City wants to give them NYCID cards and free tickets to all the "cultural centers" they might want to bomb next.

14 of the 9/11 terrorist were here on tourist visas,
4 on business visas
and one a student visa.
None of them were illegal aliens.

Of the other 18 9/11 hijackers, 14 came to the United States on six-month tourist visas and four came on business visas, according to the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States. Once in the U.S., two of the hijack pilots applied to have their immigration status changed to vocational student, but neither used such a visa on their subsequent re-entry into the country.

The fact is, only one of the 19 9/11 hijackers came to the U.S. on a student visa, according to the 9/11 Commission Report. That one was Hani Hanjour, a Saudi Arabian terrorist who piloted the plane that was flown into the Pentagon, according to a 2004 staff report of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States. In his student visa application, Hanjour provided paperwork showing that he was enrolled in an English as a second language program in Oakland, Calif., but he never attended after arriving in America (a fact that would draw scrutiny today). He did not, however, overstay his student visa.

Under US immigration law, they were all illegal aliens.

• Every hijacker submitted a visa application falsely stating that he was not seeking to enter the United States to engage in terrorism. This was a felony, punishable under 18 U.S.C. § 1546 by 25 years in prison and under 18 U.S.C. § 1001 by 5 years in prison, and was a violation of immigration law rendering each one inadmissible under 8 U.S.C. § 1182(a)(6)(c).
• The hijackers, when they presented themselves at U.S. ports of entry, were terrorists trained in Afghan camps who had prepared for and planned terrorist activity to further the aims of a terrorist organization – al Qaeda – making every hijacker inadmissible to enter the United States under 8 U.S.C.§ 1182(a)(3)(b).
  

• At least two (Satam al Suqami and Abdul Aziz al Omari) and possibly as many as seven of the hijackers (Suqami, Omari, Mohand al Shehri, Hamza and Saeed al Ghamdi, Ahmed al Nami, and Ahmad al Haznawi) presented to State Department consular officers passports manipulated in a fraudulent manner, a felony punishable under 18 U.S.C. § 1543 by 25 years in prison and a violation of immigration law rendering them inadmissible under 8 U.S.C. § 1182(a)(6)(c).
• At least two hijackers (Suqami and Omari) and as many as 11 of the hijackers (Suqami; Omari; Waleed, Wail, and Mohand al Shehri; Hani Hanjour; Majed Moqed; Nawaf al Hazmi; Haznawi; and Hamza and Ahmed al Ghamdi) presented to INS inspectors at ports of entry passports manipulated in a fraudulent manner, a felony punishable under 18 U.S.C. § 1543 by 25 years in prison and a violation of immigration law rendering them inadmissible under 8 U.S.C. § 1182(a)(6)(c).
• Nawaf al Hazmi and Suqami overstayed the terms of their admission, a violation of immigration laws rendering them both deportable under 8 U.S.C. § 1227(a)(1)(B).
