Turns out Aunti Zeituni Onyango, one of Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama’s many relatives made famous in his memoir, is an illegal alien. And not just a run-of-the-mill illegal alien on welfare.

She’s one of the hundreds of thousands of deportation fugitives — absconders – whom I’ve been reporting on for the past six years. After 9/11, the government vowed to crack down on absconders. They’ve failed abysmally.Aunti’s story:

One would think with all the rumors all over the web about Obama having been born in Kenya and not the USA, they would either investigate or provide proof to the contrary. This is very troubling, as it would be very simple to put this question to rest ones and for all.

I hope they check the voter registrations to see if she is also registered to vote.

One thing I will say is that Judicial Watch a very conservative and trustworthy law organization has looked into the birth certificate controversy. They looked into law and they feel he is a legal citizen and can run for the Presidency.

The directive suggests that the Bush administration is sensitive to the political implications of Onyango's case coming to light so close to the election

This case should be treated no differently than any other. This woman has flouted the law for years, and since she has now been identified and authorities know where she lives, she should be immediately deported -- no matter who she is related to. The fact that, at least at this point, she is not, further erodes the credibility of our immigration and criminal justice system.

Also, she's living in public housing but has contributed close to $300 to her nephew, and "only U.S. citizens or green-card holders are legally permitted to give money to campaigns." When did Obama's campaign know this, and why didn't they report her? How many things are wrong with this picture.

I don't kniw if this has been posted yet, but here is updated info. I find it hard to believe Obama mentioned her in his book, but doesn't know her legal status:

"Updated 11:37 a.m.: Bill Burton, a spokesman for the Obama campaign, issued the following statement in response to the AP's reporting about Sen. Obama's aunt: "Senator Obama has no knowledge of her status but obviously believes that any and all appropriate laws be followed."
