YUMA, Ariz. - Border officials say Arizonans who drive to Mexico during the Memorial Day weekend should expect to find longer-than-normal lines at the border when they return.

Arizonans visiting the Sonora seaside city of Puerto Penasco typically return through the Lukeville port of entry.

But long lines also form at the port of entry at San Luis, Ariz.

Miguel A. Valadez, a supervisory Customs officer at the San Luis port, says he expects lines there to be longest Sunday and Monday afternoons.

He says waits there could possibly be one or two hours but that Customs and Border Protection officials will try to expedite crossings.

Officials say travelers can help the lines move smoothly by having passports and other required border crossing documents ready to present to U.S. officers.
