OH-Judge Sides With Ohio Over Immigrant Drivers
Judge Sides With Ohio Over Immigrant Drivers
Last Update: 2:26 pm
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- A judge is allowing Ohio to cancel the registrations of thousands of vehicles largely driven by undocumented immigrants.
Monday's ruling was a defeat for the League of United Latin American Citizens. The group, which argued that Ohio was illegally delving into U.S. immigration policy, is considering an appeal.
Franklin County Common Pleas Court Magistrate Pamela Browning said the state had a compelling public safety interest in canceling questionable registrations.
Ohio sent notices in October to the owners of more than 47,000 vehicles, informing them that their registrations would be canceled if they did not provide an Ohio driver's license, Ohio identification card or proof of a Social Security number by Dec. 8.
If stopped by police, drivers who can't provide adequate identification risk going to jail, with undocumented immigrants potentially facing deportation.

This action by Ohio is ingenious. If the illegals can't obtain vehicle registrations, then they cannot drive legally. If they can't drive, they can't get to work. If they can't get to work, they will get fired by their employers. If they get fired, they will do one of three things: move to another state where they can get vehicle registrations, resort to criminal activity to maintain their existence, or self-deport themselves on their own accord due to inability to find work.
Now if they carpool with someone who has valid registration, then that person is guilty of aiding and abetting illegal aliens since it is against the law to knowingly provide shelter, employment, or transportation to illegal aliens to act in concert with their illegal employment.
Ohio is not like NYC or Wash DC or Chicago with subways and buses at your disposal. The livelyhood of the residents in that state is dependent on their ability to drive.
What they need to do now is have the locals in Ohio step up traffic enforcement and expand 287g, and Ohio will be illegal free in no time. They get arrested on a traffic violation, get sent to the county jail where ICE agents will be waiting for them.
Other states need to follow suit with this as well.
