OK: Hispanic leaders say reform laws ‘have devastated' fam

TULSA — Hispanic community leaders are meeting in Tulsa today to announce they will be suing the state of Oklahoma over recently passed immigration enforcement legislation, HB 1804.

The decision to sue the state comes on the heels of the attorney general stating he would not be able to render a public opinion on the constitutionality of the proposed bill until months after Nov.1 — the date it will go into effect.

HB 1804 largely is considered the most stringent immigration enforcement laws in the nation.

Georgia, also known for its tough immigration laws, also has been named in a similar suit.

"Our undocumented families have been devastated. Hundreds have been deported. Thousands have left Tulsa. They have either returned to their home countries or moved to other states where their future is uncertain,â€
Immigration reform should reflect a commitment to enforcement, not reward those who blatantly break the rules. - Rep Dan Boren D-Ok

Churches are losing their members and attendance has declined considerably.
Finally, the real reason Rev. Miguel Rivera has problem with the enforcement of our immigration laws. He should have listed his main concern first, not last.

I am proud of Okalahoma and Georgia, keep up the good job!!! It is telling that so many being deported, supposedly threatens business, church coffer's etc. Supply and demand the greed machine and our govt. pandering appeasing manner have begotten this locust upon us!

As far as families being torn apart!@#%$ What about AMERICAN Familes being ripped apart, Son's and Daughter's being forced to move away from family ties and communities they grew up in. All available/affordable and HUD housing illegals gobble up, being able to afford the high cost of rent or mortgage by living multiple families per house or having the Govt. foot the bill!

It should be illegal to sue to stop or prevent the enforcement of our immigration laws.

Families are being devastated? I guess they shouldn't be breaking the law.

Those families aren't my concern, what about American families who have been torn apart by these illegal criminals? I dread every 4th of July a holiday I love to celebrate because it's just another holiday for these people like cinco de mayo to get drunk and go drive and kill someone. The irony is they're celebrating our countrie's independence day.
How funny that it's okay for the men to sneak in to our country and earn money and send it back, isn't that breaking up the family? No one complains about that. But when those illegal's are getting deported from the USA and no longer are getting those handouts then they start crying about breaking up the family. The bottom line is these people are weak minded individuals who are criminals whose loyalty will go to the highest bidder, how quickly these fools ran to Canada with their hands out. I would be ashamed to be a Mexican, the whole world knows all they know how to do is have babies they can't take care of and how to hold their hands out. Look to Africa where Aids and faminine are an every day part of life and how they struggle, families torn apart by death and genocide those are the people who deserve and need the most help!

What a joke. They don't know where to stop, do they?
