    Illegal immigrants flee detention

    SOMERSET — State police are looking for three Hispanic illegal aliens who fled while being detained Tuesday afternoon. They are not considered to be dangerous.

    Police said a van was stopped for a minor equipment violation around

    11:30 a.m. on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Somerset County. Inside were 12 illegals.

    The dozen were taken to the turnpike barracks in Somerset and were being detained in the van until immigration officials could arrive. But three of them fled around 2:30 p.m. into a swampy area behind the station.

    A state police aircraft from Latrobe joined state police on the ground from the turnpike and Somerset County stations to look for them, police said.
