Three illegal immigrants face extradition after turnpike stop

NEW BALTIMORE — Three illegal immigrants are awaiting extradition after authorities said they uncovered $150,000 in cash during a routine traffic stop on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Somerset County early Monday.
It is the latest in a series of high-profile arrests involving drugs, guns and money by troopers at the Somerset turnpike barracks.
Jermaine Willis, 28, and Derrick Foster, 42, both of Cleveland, are being held in the Westmoreland County Jail on detainers from the federal Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services as deported felons.
Raymian Sangster, 24, also of Cleveland, is in the Somerset County Jail awaiting extradition to New York City on weapons charges. Sangster has a deportation hearing scheduled for December, state police said.
Sgt. Anthony DeLuca, commanding officer of the New Stanton turnpike barracks, and Cpl. Robert Johnson said they pulled over two vehicles simultaneously for traffic violations around 1 a.m. Monday at milepost 122 westbound in Stonycreek Township.
The troopers said Willis and Foster were in the first vehicle, followed by Sangster in the second.
State police said the three indicated they were not traveling together, though they all possessed Ohio licenses with addresses no more than three houses apart. They said they were coming from Philadelphia.
