Pregnant Guatemalan mother of five faces deportation

Pregnant Guatemalan mother of five faces deportation

    March 13, 2017

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A pregnant mother of five faces deportation to Guatemala.

Thirty-three-year-old Lilian Cardona-Perez arrived in the U.S. at age 15 and received a valid work permit, which she renewed every year.

According to her attorney, she has always worked legally.

Cardona-Perez’s attorney, Yesenia L. Polanco-Galdamez, told Fox News that her client has never been arrested and has no criminal record. But she did have one brush with the law in 2010.

“She was detained in 2010 for a criminal charge that was later dismissed. She was detained in Raleigh and under the 287g program was immediately screened by ICE and placed in removal proceedings,” Polanco-Galdamez said.

“She was released by ICE on her own recognizance. She failed to appear at her first immigration court date and the immigration judge ordered her removed in [absentia].”

Polanco-Galdamez claims Cardona-Perez’s never received the letter immigration officials sent and that she found out she was being deported when she went to renew her paperwork.

The lawyer, immigration advocates and civil groups such as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) say the detention was unwarranted.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) did not respond to a request for comment on the case.

Cardona-Perez’s lawyer argues that President Trump’s immigration executive order targets immigrants who commit crimes or live in the United States illegally, but neither of those are her client’s case.

Cardona-Perez's work permit is valid through October 2017, her lawyer said.

She said she is exploring her Cardona-Perez’s eligibility for a U visa, which is given to people who have suffered physical or mental abuse. In addition, the lawyer told Fox News, she is looking into a crime committed against her client in Guatemala to see if she qualifies for a potential Withholding of Removal and also Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

Cardona-Perez’s hearing with Charlotte U.S. Immigration officials is scheduled for Thursday, March 16 and she could be sent back to Guatemala if her hearing is denied.

Another one that probably can't afford to take care of 5 kids. And pregnant again. Talk about overpopulation. Where's their common sense? Send her back before she has another American citizen kid.

    Please, hurry.

Why, oh why, are we letting them pretend that being here illegally is OK and that refusing to even follow rules to allow them to stay is OK?

Excuse me, but who in our fvcked up government gave a 15 year old from another country a "valid work permit"? This needs to be investigated and whatever stupid rule would allow such stupidity needs to be repealed or revoked or terminated or cancelled right here, right now. No foreign person under the age of 18 should be handed a "valid work permit" to do anything in our country.

Now get her ass out of here. From the sound of it, she was given a "valid permit" to breed.

Okay, I see no mention in the story of her being brought here by her parents, nor do I see any mention of her graduating high school. So exactly how is she supposed to qualify for the DACA amnesty?

Keep your promise, Mr. President, end DACA now!

Illegals give birth freely and often, without a care in the world, as they don't pay a dime for prenatal care, hospital deliveries, and health and dental care for their U.S. born offspring. If illegals aren't deported, and birthright citizenship continues unchallenged, the financial burden to U.S. taxpayers will be beyond measure, not to mention the rapid demographic change of our country.

Yes, who would give a valid work permit to a 15 year old. What job could she do and what jobs are legal for any 15 year old.

    Sounds fishy to me ---

She has 5 kids and she is 31 years old and she works???? This is not what we want here and there is no way she could earn enough if she works at all to feed and cloth 5 kids and herself and pay rent or anything else. Also she was targeted for deportation and she ignored the order so away she goes and take your 5 kids and the one on the way with you.
