    President McCain's amnesty

    President McCain's amnesty

With the nomination of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, the popular governor of Alaska, Republicans are feeling good about their chances of electing John McCain as president.

I have to admit, I like Sarah Palin. In fact, if she were at the top of the ticket, I would probably vote for her myself.

But she's not on the top of the ticket. Sadly, she is window dressing for the ascension of John McCain to the presidency. Vice presidents don't have much power and authority. In fact, Sarah Palin will find out after she is elected vice president that she was more powerful in her former position as governor of Alaska than as the person who presides over the U.S. Senate and occasionally casts a tie-breaking vote.

That's why I haven't changed my mind about my "None of the Above" position in light of all the excitement about Sarah Palin.

Here's is my prediction about this race now: McCain will win easily as a result of this pick. Barack Obama's star is fading fast. McCain has managed to rally the troops.

So, perhaps it's time to start looking forward to what we can expect from a McCain presidency in 2009.

I predict one of the very first orders of business for McCain will be to sign a sweeping bill granting amnesty to tens of millions of illegal aliens in the United States. This will be a heinous piece of legislation approved by Democratic majorities in the House and Senate and opposed by most Republicans. You can take this prediction to the bank.

I also predict there will be weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth across America. Many of those who are denouncing me in unusually harsh terms for my opposition to McCain will be complaining to me when this happens. For some reason, they can't see this inevitability coming – or maybe they just prefer not to think about it.

McCain has long been a radical extremist on illegal immigration. He has encouraged it. He has coddled it. He has excused it. He has praised it. And he has repeatedly courted hate groups like La Raza in a bid for a small piece of the anti-American, anti-sovereignty, anti-borders vote.

In January, the chickens will come home to roost.

Rather than Obama signing that legislation authored and approved by a Democratic Congress, it will be McCain doing it. It will also be McCain who gets most of the blame. The same radio talk-show hosts today waxing enthusiastic for the GOP nominee will be saying they just don't understand why the president is taking such a misguided political action.

So, I am warning all of you right now, please don't come crying to me when McCain changes the very character of America with a stroke of the pen. You have been warned. No action by any president can irreversibly and dramatically change the country for the worse faster and more thoroughly than the amnesty that is around the corner. I am telling you what you can do about it now. I have laid out a program for stopping it in "None of the Above." You can heed it or reject it. But you cannot blame me when you don't listen.

When McCain takes this action, as he will, he will be sending the Republican Party into a political wilderness for a decade or more. And that will be a setback from which even Sarah Palin will not be able to recover.

    President McCains Amnesty

I am in total agreement with you. The ONLY way McCain will get my vote is to promise IN WRITING not to reward illegal immigrants with any type of legal status. Actually, it would take more than that. If there is to be a guest worker program--those already here or previously deported should be disqualified from applying.
I have voted Republican for over 30 years. It is obvious that our representatives no longer "represent" the American worker or the Rule of Law.
The 1984 Amnesty Act was promised as a ONE TIME amnesty to bring illegals out of the shadows and the workplace enforcement part of the bill promised to STOP ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.
IT FAILED. Not only did it fail, it encouraged more to come. That is why we have the crisis we have now. How on earth will another amnesty discourage more from coming? We all know now that enforcement is promised, but hardly ever delivered.
Illegal immigration has bred more illegal activity. Identity Theft, counterfeit documents, Fraud, increased gang activity, Welfare fraud and tax evasion. Why are only citizens expected to obey the law?
Voting by non-citizens is illegal, but no one enforces the requirements. It appears that none of the laws that apply to citizens are enforced against illegal immigrants. In Texas, most people found driving with no lisence or insurance, face large fines and arrest warrants if the fines are not paid. Illegals do not even get a ticket. I have heard many stories about illegal drivers CAUSING an auto accident with no license, insurance, registration, and they get off without a ticket. Let a legal driver get caught doing the same and you get hauled into jail or into court to be sued.

People, we MUST contact McCain's campaign and DEMAND specifics on his plan to STOP illegal immigration. What is his definition of "Border Security"? Will he support e-verify for all employers? Will he stand up for American workers rights over those of foreign invaders?
Most of us know the answers, but we need to hear them. It has been extremely disappointing to have the illegal alien issue IGNORED by our leadership on all sides. No one is listening to the American people.
Contact you leader of choice and make your voice heard. We did it before when McCains Amnesty Bill was about to be forced down our throats. Don't wait until the election. Tell them NOW.
Maybe, just maybe, someone will hear and understand.

I think that we shall have to petition McCain's and Palin's offices with the fact that according to his Platform, McCain stated that "we need to stop sending hundreds of billions of dollars a year to countries that hate us." One of those countries that hate us is obviously Mexico.

Mexico encourages its citizens to send back more money now, it allows gang activity to threaten our citizens. It has even been reported that Mexico has been training potential Middle Eastern terrorists in the Spanish Language so that they could come across the border. Socialist and Marxist concerns have been supporting Illegal Aliens in May Day Marches throughout the country, bearing signs that they will take back the United States. Mexico is certainly no friend to us now, and the hateful rhetoric spewed toward citizens of the United States by organizations such as LaRaza more than exemplifies that fact.

So, according to McCain's own words, we need to stop sending hundreds of billions of dollars a year to Mexico.

Amnesty was attempted by President Reagan with the hope that it would create more of an understanding between Mexico and the United States. It did not work. It will not work now.
Remember that*all Politicians work for us, the U.S. Taxpaying Citizens.* If they are not doing their jobs to your liking, FIRE THEM in the next elections.

The post should have the name of the author on it.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

The MSM and even talk radio keeps repeating the "conservative base is fired up about Gov. Palin." Well, as a conservative who opposes illegal immigration, I'm not that fired up about her. She likely would have little impact on McCain's fervent belief in amnesty. I still don't support John McCain.

I have been disappointed to hear a Senator McCain's Senior Policy advisor, who spoke on C Span a few day ago, and to hear from Mel Martinez today that Comprehensive Immigration Reform was at the top of the list for Senator McCain. The policy advisor kept repeating this and he happily talked about increasing H1B visas under a President McCain.

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
