My wife taught at a Title 1 school in Houston and said she would see parents, PARENTS, eating the free breakfast that was prepared for the kids. Sorry, but these people are lazy, gluttonous pigs. Because of their abuse, the few that truly need the help get lumped in with the rest.

Oh well, I didn't really expect anyone here to understand my feelings on this issue, but let me make one thing clear here. All the children of illegal immigrants don't own Ipods, nor do they wear $100.00 tennis shoes. Just like everyone else on ALIPAC, I want the illegals and their children out of the country, but I don't one one single child going to bed hungry - not here, not anywhere! Heck, a starving puppy walks into my yard - I'm going to feed him, regardless of how vicious and worthless his or her mommy and daddy are. Sorry, that's just how I feel and my conscience won't allow me to feel any other way.

That breakfast and a lunch were probably the only two decent meals that child was going to get! A parent that would eat food intended for a child should be hung by the their ankles and and branded "PIG" right across their lips!

I understand what you mean MW. No one here wants children going hungry. It is the frustration we feel over those who take advantage of our generosity of programs and although many children truly need these meals I would bet most don't.

Thanks jean, I wasn't really interested in seeking agreement, but I was expecting some to understand where I was coming from. Furthermore, I knew my comments regarding this issue wouldn't be very popular, but I don't really see the illegal immigrant children (the young ones) as our enemy. Take care of the parents (deportation) and the child issue will take care of itself. Deported illegal immigrants have no choice but to take their illegal children with them, unfortunately the anchor baby issue is another whole matter. For the record though, I feel anchor babies should also be forced to leave with their illegal parents.

Most parents of these kids could/would give their kids breakfast if taxpayers weren't paying to feed them.

When my kids were in school, there was a family receiving free lunches for their kids. This family was actually a well-to-do family who knew how to take advantage of the free program.

With three children and one on the way, I agree that no child should go to bed hungry. They are the true victims in this issue.

Irresponsible parents, irresponsible politicians (foreign and here), irresponsible voters, etc. How can they win? Worse, many of these children raised in this situation never leave it. These lazy parents are raising more generations of welfare abusers. And when someone like us makes such statements in the contrary to such a practice, we are referred to as heartless, xenophobic, or a racist.

MW--you don't have to apologize for having a good heart. My Grandmother, before she died, told me that I should never let a person go to bed hungry if I could help them. I never forgot that. I grew up poor and have done well in later life so I always help other people who are having a hard time.

As angry as I am about illegal immigration, I would still help a family that was struggling. Especially at Christmas.

    No meals for illegals

A good heart is a nice thng to have, but it should go to the poor American children that went to bed hungry because their father was put out of work by a illegal. Look at the abxolute mess California is in by being liberal is it helping anyone ?Hospital after hospital closing until the numbers are a disgrace. How mny cities are becoming Mexican slums? You can turn this country into Mexico and I can assure La Raza and the rest will not be providing any hot breakfasts for the gringo. That innocent little illegals just eating that warm meal can be infecting everyone around her with TB.People have a choice do they want their American city or a 3rd world Mexican slum?I started feeding the racoons they were so cute and brought their babies until there were 25 and they started fighting .What a mess I made so I asked my Vet what to do and he said put out no more food. This is the same thing with the illegals .

Even when we struggle financially, we always make sure the kiddies are fed, and we have three.
I actually did some research on this a while back. Not only does the school get it's money, they actually make a profit off of the free and reduced lunch program. That is why they push the program so hard. I don't want to see any kids hungry either but come on, how much does couple of boxes of pop tarts cost??
