Rice growing requires a lot of standing water.
No kidding, start planting those beans. These people whine like they don't know how to take care of themselves. If you have a piece of dirt, or a skill start using it.
My aunt told me a story about two girls she went to school with. Their father was a blind man that built a dwelling out of sticks for his two daughters and he farmed and gathered food every day, while they went to school. The girls were clean and had a meal and roof over their heads. The man was poor and blind but could provide and take care of himself and his family.
I have no pity either. Remittances have made those people lazy and needy.

The attention is always externalized toward people suffering in other nations instead of Americans that are falling down like flies in a sealed jar.
