Graham, N.C. — Tempers flared Monday evening before the Alamance County Board of Commissioners over illegal immigration. Some people say that enforcing the law is tearing families apart, while others say law enforcement officers are just doing their jobs.

People speaking in support of their undocumented neighbors told stories of men and women being deported after being stopped for minor crimes.

"A large segment of this community is now afraid," a Latino person told the commissioners.

"Families are being torn apart," another person told the crowd.

Others spoke in favor of law enforcement efforts. Their stories were of crimes committed by people who are illegally in the country.

"My wife gets a letter. There are two individuals in this country illegally using her Social Security number,â€

Dear Alamance County Board Of Commissioners,

Presently, there are over 8.8 million unemployed American workers, and that number is increasing every single day.

North Carolina has a 6.6% unemployment rate, and that percentage is very likely to increase in the upcoming months.

Illegal immigrants, using forged, or stolen identities, have illegally obtained 100's of thousands of jobs, that rightfully belong to American workers.

Illegal immigrants have absolutely no right to be in our country, let alone taking jobs that rightfully belong to Americans.

It is against our laws for an illegal to be employed by anyone within our United States.

Illegal immigrants cost American taxpayers 100's of billions of dollars each year. Currently, there are said to be as many as 500,000 illegal immigrants in North Carolina, and there are more entering our United States each day. The Heritage Foundation has calculated that each illegal immigrants costs American taxpayers over $9,000 per year. Each North Carolina illegal immigrant student costs taxpayers over $8,000 just for education, and they overcrowd our classrooms.

Alamance County needs to choose whether we are to become a sanctuary for illegal immigrants, and forever bear that enormous burden, or enforce the laws of our United States, and say no to increasing numbers of illegal immigrants, who are sure to come if the sanctuary route is chosen.

Prince William County, VA passed enforcement against illegals, and their crime rate dropped by over 20%, while increasing by a like amount in the county next door, Fairfax County, which welcomed illegal immigrants. Prince William's school enrollment also dropped immensely, saving the county millions of dollars, and uncrowding the classrooms..

Will Alamance County choose to become a Prince Wiliam County, or a Fairfax County??

The choice is yours to make.

    Sincerely,

    DONE!

We really need to show our support for Sheriff Johnson. The Alamance County board needs to hear from as many of us as possible, too. Please take a few minutes and show the good Sheriff some support.
