BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A serious car crash involving a local lawmaker and a suspected illegal immigrant is threatening to re-ignite already heated debates about immigration on Beacon Hill, according to police reports obtained by FOX25.

State Rep. Mike Moran of Brighton was rear-ended by a suspected illegal immigrant this week. The suspect was wearing a Mexican costume at the time of the crash where he slammed into Moran at 60 mph.

The suspect, 27-year-old Isaias Naranjo, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a valid license. According the report, when told of the serious charges he would be facing, he just laughed.

But because of action taken by Gov. Deval Patrick, state police were unable to notify immigration authorities that Naranjo might be illegal.

Three years ago, Patrick revoked an order by former governor Mitt Romney which gave state police power to investigate immigration violations.

The governor's aides are defending the measure, saying the department of correction can still persue the violation.

The accident is bound to reverberate at the Statehouse wehere lawmakers just narrowly rejected a bill to crackdown on illegal immigrants.

This could also become an issue in the governor's race because of what Patrick did three years ago.

The suspect, whose blood alcohol content was .25 at the time of the accident according to the police report, is being held on $50,000 cash bail.

Oh man, I've been waiting for this to happen! I'm sorry for the Rep., but I honestly believe this is what it takes to FINALLY get some libs to realize what they have done to this Country.

When it's one of THEM having to deal with the BS entailed with an accident like this, maybe then they will begin to see what WE deal with daily.[/b]

You can thank the Elitist Politicians for their Sanctuary State Policy. The Representative was lucky it was just damage to his auto. Drugs furnished by the ILLEGALS, Drug Wars by the ILLEGALS, United States Citizens murdered by the ILLEGALS but not to worry the Sanctuary State will continue to furnish Cheap ILLEGAL Labor for the Elitist Political Contributors and Special Interest Groups of course they feel safe in their Gated Communities. If you venture out and you are murdered by an ILLEGAL Drunk Driver or you are a Police Officer murdered by an ILLEGAL during the commission of a crime or a traffic stop or a United States Citizen is in the "wrong" place (any Sanctuary City or State) and caught in the cross fire just remember Our Elitist Politicians and their Elitist Political Contributors consider those murdered as a SMALL SACRIFICE for THEIR CHEAP LABOR/potential votes. When the Elitist pass their BLANKET AMNESTY or as the Elitist call it “a path to citizenshipâ€

A "path to citizenship", BLANKET AMNESTY, DREAM ACT, or even ASSIMILATE he "laughed" because no matter what the Elitist Politicians "give" to the ILLEGALS he knows he can always return to mexico and will never have to account for his actions; he can later return to the United States under a different ID and the Elitist will grant him another "BLANKET AMNESTY" just a matter of time!

IS THIS ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO NOT BE CHARGED WITH RACIAL PROFILING? The guy is drunk, wearing a Mexican costume driving without a license, and slurs the words that he wants to go back home to Mexico. I wonder what the people think about Arizona's law now. There are millions just like him on our roads.

Put him in Sheriff Arpaio style lockup for a couple of years before deposting him deep into Mexico and he will get an attitude adjustment. And don't forget to tell him before deporting that it will be 10 years next time!

The report says he was in a "Mexican Meringue costume".

Wonder how Moran voted on that recently rejected bill????
