A group of black activists and community leaders held a press conference and rally in front of Congresswoman Maxine Waters’ office in Los Angeles last week (11/1/07) to protest what they consider racial ‘cleansing’ of black Americans by Hispanic gangs in Los Angeles.

Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, founder and president of BOND, the Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny, whose group organized the event is calling on Maxine Waters and other national black leaders to speak out on this issue.

Rev. Peterson was joined by citizens and activist who have witnessed and suffered as a direct result of violence by Hispanic gangs in South Los Angeles.
