Dear Judy :

The temperature is RED HOT with this CAFTA Bill. After Approval or Rejection of the Legislative Project we will be in a more relaxed atmosphere. CAFTA will probably be decided before the Congress Recess or vacation in August, things should have been decided by then.

There will be less passions and less lobbying, and we won't be getting votes for YES or NO.

In this atmosphere with less passions we can examine the results, the events, the votes and perhaps change our ideas and positions for the future.

We will be more friendly, rational and cerebral after this decision is over in the House.

This is a complex issue of Economics. We need some time for Statistics, Data, and why not ?? ... for Economic History. Including what Americans said and approved in 1776 : Adams, Jefferson, Franklin, etc ...

Since I am not American then I am the guy that can learn more and gain more from these interesting conversations. I can learn directly from the American mind. I can profit a lot by your ideas.

I appreciate a lot your ideas and your Forum. I am here for learning and that means that you can correct me and teach me.

Vicente, you touch my heart. You hit the nail right on the head, Wise One. Reason needs to prevail and it will. The issue with CAFTA is as you say, "RED HOT". It needs to defeated; thrown in the trash; and our relationships with other countries needs to be based upon the Ideals of our Nation, not the Wallets of Globalists intent upon ruling the world.

I hope Colombia will back off; remove it's support for CAFTA; stand prouldy and correctly with its farmers; and WAIT for a new day that is dawning when decisions as important as this can be made without special interest; without plans for world control by a handful of American and multi-national corporations in direct opposition to everything the American People stand for; and then wisdom, justice, fairness, freedom, democracy, individual rights, and the welfare of mankind can be advanced through proper trade that benefits all.

the highest kidnapping rate in the world, towns and villages that still have no electricity and beautiful women.......not to mention paramilitaries and communist guerillas founded by Cathoolic Priests......what a mess...

JackSmith, would you like for me write the US AID Office? Do I write them in Colombia or in Washington? I will write them and express my view of the flowers program that is huring our Rose industry. I think this is an awful program and US Aid should not be involved. That is unfair competition.

BUT Jack, perhaps you should not be too hard on the people of Colombia. They need encouragement like we do. They are under the rule of the Catholic Church and drug cartels. But even so, they are opposed to CAFTA so we know the mind of the Colombian People is in the right place. They know it will hurt their farmers, not help them, and their local industries will be swallowed up by our Giant Globalists.

Also, the Colombians sell alot of drugs, but guess who buys them?

Right....Americans. Takes two to make a sale. We have problems here too. The Colombian People can solve their economic problems. They are capable. The people of our nation and theirs and all the others need to stick together. It is the governments causing problems now and not fixing the problems that should have been fixed long ago.

Also, in America we have two advantages...our System....and the fact that neither the Catholic Church nor any other Church rules our System, despite how much they might try from time to time.

Vicente--we already have hummingbirds and butterflies here, you poor thing. I'm pretty sure those aren't a part of CAFTA, although I haven't read the fine print.

BobC--what he is talking about is the unique environment of Colombia for growing certain exotic plants that we can not grow here and hummingbirds and butterflies are natural pollinators like bees. The United States has destroyed its natural pollinators. We have to use beekeepers just to fertilize crops. The GE and GMO seeds are killing een the beekeeper hives and it is a very serious problem. GE and GMO seeds kill honey bees, butterflies, birds that eat seeds, birds, small mammals, and other beneficial insets and may even kill the biota of our soils.

GE and GMO farming in South America where much of our rain forest is located would be an ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER. And GE and GMO farming is one of the main drivers of CAFTA and FTAA. These people, the Globalists, will destroy the world if left unchecked. Under CAFTA and FTAA there will be no checks or balances...all matters will be ruled by the World Trade Organization. I don't feel too safe with that, do you?

Vicente wasn't talking about shipping us hummingbirds and butterflies, he was addresing the value of Colombia as an example of a unique country, which I believe it is, and it needs to find its own way to prosperity by finding what it has that no one else has and develop those resources into products....like natural food, like plants that can hold a cure for illness, like maintaining a rain forest and all the secrets and wonders rain forests offer society and mankind. Sterile toxic seeds from the US are not part of that future for Colombia or any other nation quite frankly.

Jack, I am sure that the Beautiful Women, the hummingbirds and butterflies were given by God.

But I think that the "Bad Guys" ( Narcos, Mafia, Paramilitary, Guerrilla ) were given by the Devil.

When God slept the siesta in the 7th day, then the devil undid a lot of His Work. He was envious of a Land with such Beauties and Treasures.
