Are they serious? When has any place ever had a shortage of construction workers? They just want their cheap labor.

Enforce our laws and the illegals will leave.

Well you just got a gift handed to you, find out who those "Some People" are????? Then you will know who is pushing for all that illegal cheap labor in construction jobs that there is such a shortage of....

Alabama has had over 10% unemployment, there is no shortage of construction wokers at a living wage.

The illegals are not welcome to flock into Alabama for the cleanup jobs, regardless of how many contruction companies would like to put more money into their pockets by hiring them.

The companies that use them now should be investigated to insure that the employment taxes are being paid, on the correct social security number, claiming the correct number of dependants and that the workmen's conp insurance is in place on every worker. I had a roofer show up at my house and tell me that he had workmam's comp and that his employees were legal. When the crew showed up, I confronted him and he admitted that they only covered one employee, since they all looked alike , (nice guy huh?)and that the one that might get hurt. He also refused to sign a sworn statement that all of the people that showed up at my house were legal to work here - he did not do the work and I was offended by everything he said and did. But, he roofed several houses in my neighborhood.
