Tucson Sector Border Patrol Arrests Felon Convicted of Rape

Tucson, Ariz. – A male Mexican national with a prior rape conviction was apprehended last night by the Tucson Sector Border Patrol, a component of the Customs and Border Protection’s Joint Field Command-Arizona.
Jose Rosa-Torres, 26, was apprehended by Nogales Border Patrol agents near Amado, Ariz. During processing, agents discovered he was arrested and convicted in 2004 for rape in Butler County, Ohio, and sentenced to two years in prison. His criminal record was discovered using the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System, a vital tool that ensures individuals with criminal histories are identified and penalties are upheld to the full extent of the law. Rosa-Torres is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for re-entry of an aggravated felon.

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A Mexican man with a prior rape conviction in Ohio has been arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents in southern Arizona.
Authorities say 26-year-old Jose Rosa-Torres was apprehended Wednesday night by Nogales Border Patrol agents near Amado.
During processing, agents discovered Rosa-Torres was arrested and convicted in 2004 for rape in Butler County, Ohio, and sentenced to two years in prison.
The Border Patrol says Rosa-Torres' criminal record was discovered using the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System.
Federal prosecutors said Thursday that Rosa-Torres will be prosecuted for re-entry of an aggravated felon. It's unclear whether he has legal representation yet.
