If someone doesn't do something about this Anchor Baby Citizenship Scam against our country, I swear, it's a hopeless situation. When Republicans can't pass a simple little Budget Reconciliation Bill to free Americans who can't afford health insurance and businesses who can't afford to provide it from having to pay tax penalties to fund Medicaid and Subsidized Insurance for ANCHOR BABIES, because the "Freedom Caucus" wasn't happy, then it's too late to save our country, because we've already lost it to the pious-framed political greed that put US in this position to begin with.

Yes, if in fact, it does more than just affirm the SS#is a valid number.

As I said, I'm not sure what it shows - but it would have to have information that affirms the person using the number is the one to whom it was originally issued.


Since the illegals are using fake, often other people's SS#, it could show as a valid SS#. Unless it shows indentifying information, it is useless. Just because it is a valid number, doesn't mean it belongs to the person using it.

Also, comparing 1099's to filed returns would reveal a lot of illegals and the employers who are hiring them.

OK, I hear that and I'm assuming you have faith in the procedure - so the fact is, either not more than 20 small time employers are using it - or it doesn't work.

Again, it is just my cyncism, but nothing, absolutely NOTHING put in place during the Clinton or Bush, or Obama administration - especially the Bush administration is going to work to identify and keep illegals from being hired.

If it did, some politician, some court would deem it rasict, illegal, discriminatory or some such thing.

It just isn't working, and if it did all they say , again the number of employers using it, wouldn't justify it's existence.

This wouldn't be the first time our government has colluded with others to give corporations a way to break the law - and be legal - sort of.

Remember, they said 'there is just no way the government can compare all 1099's to filed returns?" How stupid do they think we are - well, they know we are either very stupid, or just so tired we let them get away with it.

Unless and until it is proven to me that it works, I believe E-Verify is just that - a work around, a prepared excuse for employers who want to circumvent the law and employ illegals. So why all the 'checking', when simply checking the SS and comparing the information given by original SS card holder, will do the job and do it correctly.

Just put a program in place that an employer can enter the SS# given, and get the information as to age, sex, place of birth. If you have a 30 year old Hispanic male in front of you and the SS# is that of a lady born in 1923/perhaps deceased, or a child born/died 5 years before, you know you have a problem. Just takes a couple of minutes.
