US-Mexico border wall would be 'disgraceful': Fox

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexican President Vicente Fox denounced as "disgraceful and shameful" on Wednesday a proposal to build a high-tech wall on the U.S.-Mexico border to stop illegal immigrants.

Concerned about the huge numbers of illegal immigrants streaming across the border and worried it could be an entry point for terrorists, a U.S. lawmaker has proposed building two parallel steel and wire fences running from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Coast. But Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff has said a wall running the length of a border would cost too much.

Mexico has expressed indignation at the idea.

Fox, speaking in Tamaulipas state across the border from Texas, said such extreme security measures would violate immigrants' rights.

"The disgraceful and shameful construction of walls, the increasing enforcement of security systems and increasing violation of human rights and labor rights will not protect the economy of the United States," he said.
He again called for the easing of U.S. immigration laws to benefit millions of undocumented Mexican fruit pickers, waiters and janitors working north of the border, a complex bilateral issue that has at times strained relations with Washington.

"I hope that next year we finally get an immigration agreement," Fox told immigrants crossing the border back to Mexico to spend the holidays with their families.

President George W. Bush pledged recently to step up the use of unmanned flying drones, fences and technology to tighten border security. A 14-mile (23-km) fence south of San Diego has already slashed illegal crossings there, officials say.

Each year, more than 1 million undocumented migrants try to slip across the rivers and deserts on the 2,000-mile (3,200-km) U.S.-Mexico border in search of work in the United States.

Many die en route in the searing desert heat.

Vicente Fox is a joke. Anyone who gives this vegetable the time of day, their 'ear', a "seat" in their building or a second thought other than to laugh at him...is a fool.

The man is out of his mind with greed for the "easy money" his foot soldiers and advance team is sucking of the United States. He is a Mooch, he is a Loser, he is a Bush Puppet, he is a Silly Goose, turning his people into desert rats scurrying into a country that neither needs them nor wants them to violate our immigration, labor and civil rights laws.

Oh yes, his people are most definitely violating US Civil Rights Laws because 100% hispanic crews are illegal in the United States work place. When they are 100% hispanic illegal crews, then they are Double Illegal. When these workers are gathered and supervised and managed and paid as a 100% hispanic crew...that is a 100% white crew and blatantly in violation of EEO regulations in the United States.

So where is the ACLU? Busy with illegals and pedophiles.

Our country has sunk so low....it may have to go all the way to rock bottom to get a bounce back up.

Some things are controlled by the Laws of the Universe.

The true disgrace is that Mexico will NOT protect human rights and labor rights in Mexico and this man has the nerve to complain about anything the US might try to do to protect its citizens.

Another true disgrace is that all the "advocacy" groups don't advocate for rights of citizens in these countries before they flee to the US.

Why don't these "advocacy" groups go down to lovely Mexico;

rent a Hacienda;

"advocate" Mexico to spend money on their citizens in education; hospitals; birth control;

and high wages paid for by the Billionaires and Globbie Friends who own all those manufacturing facilities and big businesses down there many of which used to be HERE?

LOBBY MEXICO to establish a minimum wage of say....hmmmm....$5.15 an hour....the minimum they would legally earn here if a legal immigrant.
