a $2,000 fine is a joke. Most pay a coyote $1,500-$3,000 from Mexico, and $10,000-$15,000 from Central America every time they cross.

This morning I woke up and turned on the Senate’s TV channel just to see Senator Nelson of Florida standing up talking about the “Gators” game yesterday! HELLO WORLD! This is the senate floor! Not the Orange Bowl! What on earth are these people thinking?

With the US being turned upside down on this immigration issue and everyday the debates in the senate going on……….. Is the “Gators” game MORE IMPORTANT than the business on the senate’s floor? Maybe! if so, then Senator Nelson should go out and play ball! He sure as heck is not doing the peoples business!

This is just another example of how these people just don’t “get it” of what is important to the country……..

The idea of "GIVING" away free education to those who come here illegally, and to make it the rest of the people to attend college. Vetrans who are in the active military HAVE to pay out of state fees! Hello world, Senators.wake up and listen to the people! Or we will remove you from office, and you can then go pick veggies in the fields with those you let into our country!

Perhaps I grossly misunderstood. I was under the assumption that this undeserved cost break was limited to illegals who wanted in-state tuition to a college in the same state in which they reside (and graduated high school from).

Are you saying that this is actually about illegals receiving in-state tuition rates at ANY college, no matter which state they they were living in when they received their high school diploma?

that just goes to show how little OUR government thinks of citizenship -- citizens of this country DIED for the freedoms and privileges they want to give away.

This is how the American taxpayers will actually end up paying for the $2000 Amnesty fine:

STEP ONE The illegal applies and pays for amnesty with a $2000 check.
STEP TWO The NOW legal immigrant applies for a Social Security Number.
STEP THREE The immigrant works.
STEP FOUR The immigrant get a W-2.
STEP FIVE The immigrant files a tax return with his anchor babies' Social Security Number on the EIC form.
STEP SIX The IRS approves the tax return.
STEP SEVEN The U.S. Treasury sends the immigrant a check for $4800 (or less) because we give the Earned Income Tax Credit to anyone with a SSN.

If illegal aliens want to fight for this country and serve in the military then they are offered college tuition assistance. We are talking about people who came here illegally looking for a hand-out for college. That we do not agree with. People who are not citizens of this country are not eligible for in-state tuition
