Stand Your Ground: Protesters Divert 3rd Round of Buses from Murrieta

MURRIETA -- Demonstrators opposed to illegal immigration stood their ground again at the Murrieta Border Patrol station on Monday, where U.S. Border Patrol had been scheduled to transfer a third round of buses, with approximately 140 illegal aliens aboard in total, transferred from overcrowded Texas detention facilities.

For a third time, the buses were rerouted to the San Ysidro, California Border Patrol station, near the U.S.-Mexico border, for processing. The demonstrators gathered in areas to the north and south of the Murrieta station after law enforcement blocked off the road near the station itself. Many told Breitbart News they considered their stand a success, since buses scheduled for Murrieta are avoiding it as long as demonstrators remain.

The anti-illegal immigration protests Monday brought out new, first-time demonstrators and onlookers from many different backgrounds--from young enlisted Marines to legal immigrants from Germany, Mexico, and Central America. Karen Siegemund of Rage Against the Media, comedian and author Evan Sayet, and radio host Kender Macgowan made it out as well.

Despite the news of buses being re-routed for the second time since a standoff with three buses in Murrieta July 1, anti-illegal immigration demonstrators plan to continue to monitor and be at the ready should any transfers of illegal aliens to the Murrieta station resume.
The general sentiment is that the moment that demonstrators leave, transfers to the station will continue.

Protesters Again Assemble in Murrieta in Effort to Block Buses Loaded with Migrant Transfers

Though it's not 100 percent clear if the buses will come to town Monday or not, protesters are gathering at the Murrieta Border Patrol facility.

Protesters gathered again Monday in Murrieta to stand off buses loaded with migrants slated for processing at a federal facility.

According to U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement, 140 asylum seekers are scheduled to be brought to the Border Patrol station in the southwest Riverside County city every three days.

The undocumented immigrants have been identified by the government as citizens of Central American countries fleeing to the U.S. to escape unspecified conflicts. Immigration reform advocates have told City News Service there's no way to know for certain who the migrants are, or where they're from, without in-depth background checks.

According to the Obama administration, the transferees are being transported from Border Patrol facilities in south Texas, where around 40,000 have surrendered at the U.S.-Mexico border since the beginning of the year.

A group of immigrants were flown into Lindbergh Field in San Diego late Monday morning and then bused to a U.S. Border Patrol facility in San Ysidro for processing.

Last Tuesday, an initial group of 140 arrived in San Diego and were driven to Murrieta, where crowds of protesters blocked their entrance to a USBP facility, prompting authorities to take them instead to San Ysidro.

The departure from the Riverside area marked a victory for the roughly 150 demonstrators who decried the foreigners' arrival there, many waving flags and others carrying signs reading "Stop Illegal Immigration" and "Return to Sender."

Protesters have continued gathering at the Border Patrol facility, and some clashed with police Friday while waiting to see if more migrants would be arriving.

According to ICE officials, many of the transferees will be freed to stay with friends, family and sympathetic groups until their cases can be adjudicated.

Ira Mehlman with the Federation for American Immigration Reform and William Gheen with Americans for Legal Immigration both told CNS last week that the transfers appeared to be politically motivated, instigated by the Obama administration to intensify pressure on Congress to pass immigration reform measures that many opponents have blasted as backdoor amnesty.

Mehlman said the president's 2012 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, policy initiative has served as an "inducement" for undocumented immigrants to make a mad dash across the U.S.-Mexico border.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials initially set Riverside County as the end point for processing the migrants.

Murrieta Mayor Alan Long, who has criticized federal officials over the transfers, told residents during a town hall meeting last week that the city had coordinated with the Border Patrol to ensure that the anticipated influx didn't create an untenable situation locally.

BREAKING – DAY 7: Murrieta – 3, Obama’s Foreign Invasion of the U.S. – 0… Feds Forced to Abandon Murrieta Facility for Third Time!

    Today's News
    Zoom Out Zoom In

    By Eric Odom

I stepped away from Madison street in Murrieta for a bit to update our readers on what is going on with the federal government’s attempted invasion of the city. For many this will be breaking news so let me get right to it.

Obama’s homeland security buses have, for the third time since last Tuesday, been forced to turn away and stop at another Border Patrol facility. While this is a major victory for Murrieta, the following remains to be true:

    1) The invasion was not stopped. Murrieta won the day, but a nearby community is now saddled with a new burden it’s not likely prepared to deal with. And Murrieta is still in the cross hairs, no doubt about it.

    2) The feds are now just trying to wait the Murrieta citizens out. Anyone who has been here and has seen the Border Patrol facility knows Obama’s homeland security needs this location to support its invasion into the interior United States. This is not just an office or administration building. It is the size of a small prison facility and has state-of-the-art fencing, buildings, perimeter security and a video/audio communication tower that rivals anything out there. These kinds of facilities can’t be popped up in a matter of days or weeks. The federal government needs this facility in order to process those who committed crimes at our border out into Los Angeles. Once these people are given some arbitrary date at which they are supposed to return for a hearing, then released into LA, we will never see or hear from them again. They will obtain a drivers license, become a part of the social welfare system and disappear into the masses.

A major applause is due in the direction of the local citizens of Murrieta. They’re resolve and constant work to ensure their town is protected is unmatched. But the folks here know full well this isn’t over.

Stay tuned for updates. This isn’t going away any time soon.
