DUNBAR, W.Va. -- State Police arrested a man who was in the country illegally after he allegedly fired a gun in Dunbar.

Troopers M.J. Napier and K.M. Williams responded Friday to a report about shots being fired near a Stover Road home, Sgt. Michael Baylous said in a news release.

Napier and Williams questioned Yong Quing Ren, 46, and found a .22LR revolver in his possession, Baylous said.

Troopers were notified by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in Charleston that Ren had been wanted by the New York immigration office for aggravated deportation since 1999, troopers said.

Ren was taken into custody and charged with being a fugitive from justice and being an illegal alien in possession of a handgun.

He was transported to South Central Regional Jail.
