Are You Ready for a ‘Violent Illegal Alien Criminal Empowerment Act’?

I’ve recently written two columns in FSM illustrating that the tide of battle has shifted against those who support illegal immigration and open borders. In October I described how, through their increasingly violent behavior and falsehoods, the members of the Open Borders Lobby (OBL) are revealing that they themselves recognize this fact. In November I wrote of the latest of this year’s string of major victories over the OBL: New York Governor Eliot Spitzer’s humiliating defeat of his scheme to issue driver’s licenses to illegal aliens.

Since the publication of those columns there have been additional developments which confirm the themes of these columns but which simultaneously provide warning that the war is far from over.

The inability of Gov. Spitzer to implement his illegal alien licensing plan was a critical defeat for the OBL. It was a certainty that whichever side won, there would be significant impact on other states. If the open borders extremists had succeeded in New York many other states would have fallen, but because national security concerns carried the day, the influence has instead been beneficial.

The pro-illegal immigration extremists understand the importance of what occurred. On November 16, the day after Spitzer surrendered, the Putnam (NY) Journal-News quoted Robin Bikkal, immigration attorney and illegal alien profiteer, admitting: “It's very painful. It's a disaster. The thing is, I think we could have been leaders in this whole process. Now I think everybody's going to be just dug into their positions." Translation: “Had Spitzer succeeded in implementing his scheme, many other states would soon be licensing illegal aliens; instead the movement to expand the licensing of illegals to other states is all but dead.â€

Her bill would specifically allow states to prohibit state and local police from cooperating with federal government enforcement on immigration law.

A bill that would promote lawlessness. Wow. This used be known as racketeering.

Controversy

Jackson-Lee volunteered herself as an advocate for the father of Elián González in the international custody controversy. She also attracted controversy in 2003 by meeting with Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad and offering to sponsor a visit for the controversial leader to come to the United States. The Houston Chronicle interviewed two illegal immigrants who claimed to have worked for a day in Jackson-Lee's campaign office moving furniture. Jackson-Lee denied the allegation.

The Weekly Standard has published criticism of her travel arrangements, and alleged that she has been banned by Continental Airlines from flying with them after allegedly repeatedly badgering and bullying airline staff and flight attendants.

Jackson-Lee also has been accused of grandstanding and self-aggrandizement, along with being a brusque and imperious boss. In her first two years in Congress, her staff reportedly had a 180% turnover rate, which was attributed by the Houston Press to overwork and bullying by the congresswoman. Accordingly, House staffers unofficially voted her the second meanest member of the body in a Washingtonian article.

Venezuela

Jackson Lee has urged better relations between the U.S. and Venezuela, which she describes as a friendly nation. She also seeks an end to the ban on selling F-16 fighter jets and spare parts to that country. The State Department bans such sales due to Venezuela's close ties to unfriendly regimes in Iran and Cuba, and its lack of support for counterterrorism.

All this begs the question, What is this traitorous woman, who works against the safety and security or our country, doing in Congress at all? A criminal investigation (or at least a full range of drug tests) should be conducted on her and her constituents (who obviously support her insanity).

Hopefully she will be voted out in 2008.

That's hilarious. It always seems that the most spiteful and personally vindictive people are the ones who brag about how 'open-minded' and 'tolerant' they are.

I guess she's a real B.... on wheels. But, second meanest? That's scary. Who was first?
