Jan. 14, 2015 - As the House debated the Aderholt amendment to the DHS funding bill, Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (IL-04) spoke in strenuous opposition to the poisonous amendment.




This should be called Luis blows a gasket. Can't help but laugh at the little guy threatening the people he's supposed to work for(US citizens).

Jan. 12, 2015 - Rep. Luis Gutierrez spoke in the House Rules committee against the consideration of 5 Republican poison pill amendments that are being attached to the bill funding the Department of Homeland Security. The Congressman argued that the amendments target young people -- who have already registered with the government, passed a criminal background check, and are now working legally and paying taxes -- to be deportable and an equal priority for removal as a criminal. The amendment also removes protection from deportation for the spouses of military service members who are protecting our country. Another amendment lumps victims of domestic violence in with the men who are abusing them and the victims would be made a priority for deportation.
