I asked for a reason. Once given they can easily be confirmed by researching them.

I firmly believe a politicians voting records is what really defines his or her character and true beliefs. It's can be difficult deciphering campaign rhetoric, however, voting records don't lie.

To some people, me included - these are important:

Voted NO on allowing school prayer during the War on Terror.
Voted NO on constitutional amendment prohibiting flag desecration.
Voted NO on Constitutional Amendment banning same-sex marriage.

What you consider a feel good vote may not be considered in the same light by the next person.

As I said, many of these are vote-getting, for the folks back home, pandering type bills.

You have no way of actually knowing that. The individuals that introduced those bills may strongly belief in them. Moreover, the folks that supported them may feel the same way. In conclusion, what you consider pandering may not actually be pandering but conviction in ones beliefs.
