Oaxaca (Mexico), July 16 (EFE).-

The small submarine of ten meters of length and loaded with drugs was intercepted by the Mexican Navy in the coast of Oaxaca the past Wednesday.

The Headquarters of Port of Santa Cruz Huatulco indicated that upon detecting the submarine, which was in Mexican waters without the corresponding permission, military agents and of the Navy boarded the submarine and detained four people, all of Colombian nationality.

The detained men are José Félix Cuero EnrÃ*quez, 58, Rodrigo Olaya Cuero, 59, Rafael Jiménez Biojo, 27, and Fabio Pineda Payán, 48. The four are native of the Colombian port of Buenaventura, in the Pacific.

José Félix spoke with the press and said he did not know who the submarine belong to, after assuring that when they boarded the submarine "the motor was running and the sub was sealed completely."

"We were abducted, they carried us to a hill, they took us to that apparatus and they forced us to arrive to where the apparatus was and told us that it functioned with satelite help", said Jiménez Biojo.

Captain José Luis Vergara, spokesman of the SEMAR, declared to the press that the submarine was sighted in Mexican waters while it sailed towards the north and was spotted by a helicopter.

When the ship left afloat, sailor of the Navy descended with ropes from the helicopter to capture its crew members, related Vergara, who indicated that he still does not know the quantity of drugs in the sub, which apparently is cocaine".

"We were abducted in Colombia, if we didn't bring that apparatus they would kill us and our family", he added.

The four men arrested, according to the source, were transferred to the installations of the SEMAR in the Port of Huatulco and taken before a Public Department.

In April, sources of the American State Department notified that the Colombian Cartel of the Northern Valley employs small submarines to carry cocaine to Mexico and later to the United States.

The submarines emerge when they are various kilometers from the Mexican coast, where they are contacted by speedboats that later carry the drugs to the interior of the country, to transfer it then to the United States.
