Grocery giant H-E-B said it plans to open 20 new stores in Texas and Mexico this year, including at least four in the San Antonio area.
One store will open in Mexico and in the rest will open in South and Central Texas, as well as in Houston. H-E-B could not specify locations for all 20 stores.
The new stores are part of the company's continued growth plans. Last year, the San Antonio-based company open- ed 18 stores, and the year before that it opened six.
In a statement, Suzanne Wade, president of
H-E-B's food and drug division in San Antonio, called the aggressive plan “a task we are prepared to meet with great excitement.â€NO AMNESTY
