GOP Congressman Questions AARP Endorsement of Pelosi Health-Care Bill as Possible Conflict of Interest

(CNSNews.com) - AARP, the American Association of Retired Persons, which endorsed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) version of the health-care reform bill Thursday, is drawing fire from a member of Congress who questions the motives of the nation’s largest senior citizens’ lobbying group.

Rep. Dave Reichert (R-Wash.) told CNSNews.com that it is possible AARP could benefit financially from the passage of the bill, which includes $500 billion in cuts to Medicare and Medicare Advantage. According to Reichert, if the cuts to the programs result in reduced benefits, more seniors will have to purchase “Medigapâ€

Fire AARP! Deport them to a third world country.

Many older people depended on and respected AARP. AARP is now one huge money grubbing organization. They are traitors to all of America!

Guess I will cancel my membership to them today...........this is not what they were saying just a short few weeks ago......

I have canceled my membership. They no longer represent the older generation. Just like the President and Congress they do not listen to the people. Seniors all over the US have and are cancelling their membership.

That bunch of predators tried to get their hooks into my parents years ago.

Their interest is in their pocketbook, not the senior citizens they claim to represent and whose interests they claim to protect.

It's the seniors, who can least afford it, who pay their for their lobbying.

Pity that whole bunch can't be charged with "elder abuse". It truly is.
