Conservative Talk Radio To Blame for Church Shooting?
This came in my email today. I wanted to share for your thoughts.

Frank,
Yesterday, Newsday published a despicable column that directly
linked Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly and other
conservative media to the hideous church shooting that took
place last month in Tennessee.
The article -- entitled "Does Shock Jock Hate Speech Lead To
Violence?" -- is so outrageous that MRC's President Brent Bozell
just drafted a letter to Newsday demanding a retraction.
Go here to access the Newsday article as well as Brent's letter to
Newsday:

The Newsday column draws a direct connection between conservative
talk radio hosts like Rush and Sean and the brutal murderer --
making them look complicit in those vile acts.
This is so reprehensible, we had to contact our fearless MRC
Action Team right away, and give them an opportunity to take
immediate action against Newsday.
+ + Action Item: Demand a Retraction From Newsday
We want to follow Brent's letter with thousands of emails from
MRC Action Team Members demanding an apology and retraction.
Please go here right now to send your emails to Publisher
Tim Knight and others at Newsday demanding a full
apology and retraction for this outrageous story.

+ + The Left's campaign to discredit conservative media leaders
The fact is, the Left is in the midst of a hideous character
assassination campaign against conservative media -- specifically
leaders like Rush and Sean -- and they will stop at nothing.
Newsday is not alone. Liberal Jim Wallis' blog included an
article on the Tennessee shootings that stated, "we can also
connect these deaths to too much toxic talk radio."
That is why Nancy Pelosi and others in Congress want to impose
the so-called Fairness Doctrine which would silence conservatives
on the radio. That is why Newsday published this article.
If we do not stop Newsday right now, these unwarranted attacks
against conservative free speech will only increase.
Newsday should be ashamed! But unless they get overwhelmed with
comments from outraged citizens like you, they will continue
to print articles like this.
Please send your emails to Newsday right now...

..and thank you for taking a stand to stop attacks against
conservative leaders like Rush.

Publisher Tim Knight at 631-843-3135 and tell him you want a
full apology for and retraction of the story, "Does Shock Jock

Anyone who goes and shoots anyone else has already got some serious mental problems. Since they are not able to deal with right and wrong why would they not believe that these shock jocks are giving them the word from a higher being to go and get rid of the opposition by any means possible.
John Hinckley, Jr. attempted to assasinate Reagan to impress Jodie Foster;
From Wikipedia: J.D. Salinger's book, The Catcher in the Rye, was taken by Mark David Chapman, who assassinated John Lennon, was carrying the book when he was arrested immediately after the murder and referred to it in his statement to police shortly thereafter.[27] John Hinckley, Jr., who attempted to assassinate President Ronald Reagan in 1981, was also reported to have been obsessed with the book.[28] Robert John Bardo, who murdered Rebecca Schaeffer, was carrying the book when he visited Schaeffer's apartment in Hollywood on July 18, 1989. After Bardo murdered Rebecca Schaeffer, he went to an alley to throw away a paper bag, his bloodsoaked shirt and the book. The next day, he was arrested in Tucson, Arizona for the murder of Rebecca Schaeffer. Bardo later flew back to Los Angeles awaiting the murder trial. He was convicted of murder and received a life sentence in prison. Winona Ryder has claimed it is her favorite book and had a copy with her when she was arrested for shoplifting in 2001.

More Leftist Agenda
Since when have Conservative radio and TV personalites become "shock jocks"?
Since when have Conservative radio personalities become "shock jocks"? This is yet another ploy by the established liberal community to shut down ANYONE that disagrees with their point of view! People/ Parties don’t try to hide ANYTHING if they have nothing to hide. Some questions that need to be asked are as follows: “What are they (the folks that want to enforce the so-called “Fairness Actâ€Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Several comments:
a. Using Newsday's logic, we can hold the entire mainstream media, including Hollywood, directly accountable for every tragic death caused by illegal aliens because the MSM will not provide objective reporting or documentaries on the subject. Instead, their position encourages illegal immigration and all of the social and economic ills that go with it. (I intend to state this to Newsday in my e-mail).
b. If the Democrats, led by Pelosi, insist on attempting to re-instate the Fairness Doctrine, there are some strategies and tactics that we can employ:
1. Try and head'em off before we get to a Pass. We need to pelt our representatives with our position, part of which is stated above. Moreover, the Constitution forbids Congress from inhibiting the practice for free political speech. We should make our representatives aware that we expect them to support free political speech, not smother it. Also the major flaw in the Fairness doctrine is that there is no fair way to enforce it. When political positions are not just on the editorial page, but totally embedded in the media product, how can it possibly be balanced? If the Fairness Doctrine is limited to only Talk 'Radio, that is inherently unfair. What about TV News? What about Michael Moore Documentaries (especially when aired on Public Aireways). What about slanting of articles and broadcasts? What about 'editing' that puts favorable stuff on the front page, and unfavorable stuff on the back page, or worse, ignores the topic altogether. Who and how can all of this be monitored? It cannot. It is censorship, pure and simple. Our position should be that the marketplace is the best place to make these determinations. If you don't like what you hear on the radio, don't listen to it. If enough people don't, the program will either change or disappear. Same for all of the other media. And if you are actually offended by a broadcast, or film, or publication, or speech, make your opinion known to those who created the offense and those who sponsored it.
2. If, despite our efforts to stop it, the doctrine does get re-instated, then we all need to become media monitors. Everytime we find the MSM NOT being fair and balanced, we formally complain to the government entity charged with enforcing the Fairness Doctrine. If the doctrine is limited to only radio, we need to point out it should apply to TV (including satellite and cable), movies, newspapers, magazines, and books. Point out the UN-fairness of picking on only one medium, then inundate them with the literally thousands of examples, which should not be hard to find. If this is pushed to the front burner, using examples the politicians would prefer not to have highlighted (costs of illegal immigration, failure of the public school system, crime rates in LA, San Francisco, and other sanctuary cities, Muslim hate schools, impact of trade agreements on employment, impact of unregulated legal immigration on employment, etc.etc.) then I believe we can make life without the Fairness Doctrine a better choice for them, and can get them to rescind it permanently."We have met the enemy, and they is us." - POGO
