    Deadly Mexican Air Force Cargo Plane Crash

    (NewsCore) - A Mexican Air Force cargo plane crashed at Monterrey International Airport Wednesday, leaving five troops dead, the Mexican government confirmed to local media.

    It was unclear how many people were on board the aircraft when it crashed in northeast Mexico.

    The plane came down between two of the airport's terminals shortly after 2:30 pm local time. The cause of the crash is not yet known, La Cronica de Hoy reported.

    Government security spokesman Alejandro Poire said Mexican President Felipe Calderon offered his condolences to the families of the five people who were killed, according to El Universal newspaper.

    Poire said operations at the airport had returned to normal.
