Thread: European governments are a joke. But a joke that is too sad to laugh about

There was a time, not so long ago, when Feminism embodied the belief that women were fully capable of taking on any challenge and of achieving any success because as the old Helen Reddy song proclaimed; They Were Woman......... You can bend but never break me

Consider this amusingly antiquated notion of female empowerment in contrast to what we witness today under the banner of modern or third wave feminism.
A movement predicated not upon the strength of women but upon the destruction of men.
A movement dominated by shrieking cry-bullies who loudly proclaim not the innate strength of women but their oppression at the hands of men.
Feminism as it now exists has little to do with real equality,
focused as it now is on victimhood, on the strength of the oppressive patriarchy, it denies the very strength it once loudly celebrated, demoting woman to nothing more than a powerless identity group identified by its supposed oppression.
And that is why today’s feminists so strongly celebrate the appropriation or destruction of established male characters in film and literature.
It is why they crow at any concerns others might hold for the destruction of traditionally male cultural icons like James Bond 007.
Modern third wave feminism has morphed into a zero sum game focused not upon the innate strength of women but upon the destruction of anything perceived to embody masculine strength or virtue
Feminism that once proudly identified itself as a movement of “sisters doing it for themselves”, is now entirely comfortable, even proud, to ride the coattails of box office success created by male characters like James Bond.
It would rather destroy a successful male character, than do the hard work of creating a strong female character from scratch.
The decision to replace James Bond with a new female 007 really should not come as a surprise.
Because as we already know........today’s feminism is not about the lifting up of women but about the pulling down of men.

I do not support, or will watch, any "female" portraying James Bond in movies.

Women can invent their own action series movies and sequels.

Bring back Honey West or Wonder Woman, whatever!
