I don't spend my money on tobacco, alcohol or illegal drugs and as a taxpayer I don't want welfare recipients or food stamp recipients spending my money on them either.

Your legislators spend your money on alchohol and cigarettes. Yes some of them smoke. There are so many people on welfare because there are no jobs for them. We are overpopulated due to the policies of our legislators. Those policies are not the fault of welfare recipients. I notice you dont mention cable tv. Is that because you have cabel tv? I guess so. You are not the only taxpayer. Many taxpayers do spend money on alcohol and cigarettes....and illegal drugs. All the welfare money is not coming from your personal taxes. And not every single welfare recipient spends money on alcohol and cigarettes...or illegal drugs. So by your logic, recipients should be able to spend it on whatever they want because it is supported by all taxpayers. And there are some taxpayers who spend their money on the same things.

DITTO! Do something about the illegal invaders stealing jobs from Americans and perhaps we would have fewer Americans dependent upon welfare for survivial, with even fewer who abuse the system. Do something about illegal invaders who are popping out anchor babies left and right and collecting benefits on their behalf! What about that abuse!

No legislature wants to say SQUAT about that abuse because they are terrified it might cost them vote from a certain demographic that has hoodwinked them into believing they possess some magical powers at the voting booth.

That's right. They cant use benefits for those things. And even if they do happen across a couple extra bucks somewhere...who says they are spending it on alcohol and cigs...or illegal drugs. All welfare recipients are not alcoholic, drug addicted smokers. Many dont do any of those things.

People illegally trade food stamps for cash. $5 cash for $10 worth food stamps. Then they can spend the cash on anything they want.

Some little stores illegally accept the food stamps for food that wasn't bought and give them half the money back in cash. It's pure profit for the store.

They can buy food for a friend or neighbor and that person pays them half the cost of the food in cash. It's called food stamp fraud.

The government recognizes it as a problem and has investigators who go after people who do it.

If people are spending their money on tobacco or alcohol they should be using it to buy food instead of collecting food stamps to begin with.

Tobacco and alcohol addiction are bad for your health and drive up the cost of health care.

(I didn't say anything about Medicaid in my original post. You added that.)

You are not the only taxpayer supporting the welfare system. Many taxpayers who do spend their money on these things are also supporting the system. Just because you dont do it does not mean someone else should not do it. I find it interesting that you focus on what recipients might spend the money on instead of focusing on why they cant find employment. That should really be the focus. Whining about the couple dollars for a beer is just a diversion from the real problem. The real problem is that there are not enough jobs. People should not have to be on welfare at all...or food stamps. They should have jobs. I think they should be getting more money and they should spend it how they please. They are being denied employment in their own country in favor of foreigners. They should at least be able to do what most other Americans do. Just because you personally dont, does not mean you should get on your high horse over the VICTIMS of the slaughter of the American worker.
