You need to wake up and smell that coffee really quick if you care to understand what is really happening here.

If they have evidence that someone brandished a gun in an illegal way, then charge them with that as an individual and get on with it. If someone actually hurled a racist slur, then get the frack over it because that is not illegal in America!

You got a lot of nerve taking up for these socialist totalitarians on our site Nkosi and nitpicking about someone waving a flag off their truck instead of being focused on the Americans being slaughtered each day by illegal aliens backed by the same people persecuting that flag and its supporters.

I know some real good Americans fighting in the BLM.
I have never felt comfortable in a gang so I avoid them. My political leanings lean... to me. I'm an independent populist proletariat. So please, hold the partisan sauce, my food is made to order.

If you see that there are no good Americans in the BLM movement then what we have is a difference of opinion. I don't need to remind you of how I feel about the TEA party.
Furthermore, if we were just talking about illegal immigration then I think your argument might have self substantiation. Minister Farrakhan has almost nothing to do with illegal immigration, yet people love to talk about him. Interesting... If you don't fund him or attend his meetings, why care about what he says to other Americans? I and many Americans choose to celebrate Kwanzaa instead of Christmas. Why is that a problem for you?
I don't know if you know it or not but you don't hold the definition of what it means to be American. I've served in the military. Have you? I have never been to jail or prison. I have been a law enforcement officer. I am comfortable with America and Americans. I don't need or want anything. I've smelled the coffee and it smells like freedom.

The Black Lies Matter is complete BS based on the lie "hands up dont shoot" which never happened. The BLM is on the side of the illegal aliens and the socialist overthrow of America. The Tea Party folks are 90% against both!

I care about what that piece of crap Farrakhan has to say because he has called for thousands of his followers to start hunting and murdering police officers and white citizens which directly affects me and my nation and about everyone I love.

Very certain old Farrakhan is really happy with the Muslim refugee resettlement programs that are now directly opposed by the platform of this organization.

If you want to hang out with those Black Lies Matter and Nation of Islam violent extremists then that is up to you. But we are just not going to allow your sympathy for those groups to manifest here in attacks on our Tea Party allies, or any of the other non racist and non violent groups and organizations that oppose illegal immigration with us.

ALIPAC.us is a website for fighting against groups and leaders that support illegal immigration like BLM and Farrakhan and it is not a place to bash groups and leaders that are on our side of this fight. Period.

Jenny Horne's tearful Confederate flag speech shakes S.C. State House

    By Ben Brumfield, CNN

Updated 7:04 PM ET, Thu July 9, 2015 | Video Source: SCETV

(CNN)When Jenny Horne stepped up to the podium to address South Carolina's House of Representatives, her first words let on that she was fed up. Just not how fed up.

Of the words stirred by passion in the debate that eventually led lawmakers to vote to remove the Confederate battle flag from the State House grounds, hers would burn themselves into memory.

Horne started out with a calm complaint.

"We are going to be doing this all summer long," she said after stepping up to the microphone, referring to a stream of amendments that the flag's supporters were adding to the bill and effectively delaying a vote.

But eventually Horne, a white Republican representative from a town near Charleston, looked over to her black legislative friends. Then she really, tearfully, got going.

"I cannot believe that we do not have the heart in this body," she said, pausing to swallow her sobs, then raising her voice to shout, "to do something meaningful, such as take a symbol of hate off these grounds on Friday."

She thrust her finger at the floor with every word of her demand.

"And if any of you vote to amend, you are ensuring that this flag will fly beyond Friday. And for the widow of Sen. (Clementa) Pinckney and his two young daughters, that would be adding insult to injury, and I will not be a part of it."

    'Enough about heritage'

She was referring to the tragedy that had brought lawmakers to this debate: the June 17 killings, allegedly by a white shooter, of nine black members of a Bible study at a Charleston church, including the pastor, state Sen. Clementa Pinckney.

Horne, who attended Pinckney's funeral, wanted the flag down badly, believing it to be a symbol of hate and racism.

But before her speech, she listened as a handful of the flag's supporters introduced one amendment after another.

They introduced nit-picking stipulations: Add a new flagpole; dig up flower beds; get budget approval from a museum first; wait a year, then hold a referendum; just go home and think it over some more.

They threatened to create new committee meetings and new legislative sessions to deal with them. If that happened, the flag would keep flapping -- for weeks, months, maybe longer.

By the time Horne got up to speak, fresh grief was simmering under her skin.

She told her colleagues that the suspected shooter, allegedly motivated by racism, had revered the flag for all the wrong reasons and that she was sick of arguments that have kept it aloft for decades.

"I'm sorry, I have heard enough about heritage," she said.

The heritage of the Confederacy is personal for Horne, 42. She says she is a descendant of Jefferson Davis, the Confederate president. But the flag, she said, had to go.

"Remove this flag and do it today. Because this issue is not getting any better with age."

She walked away from the podium and into bear hugs from her African-American colleagues.

In the State House, the proposed amendments kept on coming, but lawmakers kept voting them down.

Finally, early Thursday, the House voted 94-20 to pass the bill to remove the flag.

Confederate flag debate: A state-by-state roundup

Horne tweeted out her joy. "It wasn't easy. It wasn't without emotion. But I'm so proud of my colleagues for doing the right thing. The Confederate flag is coming down."

'It took a tragedy to bring this body to this decision'

Gov. Nikki Haley signed the bill Thursday afternoon. At 10 a.m. Friday, the flag will be taken down from a flagpole next to a soldiers' monument, where it has been since early last decade, when legislators compromised to move it from the pole atop the State House dome.

The flag will be taken to the state's Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum for display.

Horne said Thursday morning she felt "like we have a new day."

"It's bittersweet, because it took a tragedy to bring this body to this decision," Horne told CNN's "New Day." Referring to the Charleston shootings, she said she felt the General Assembly met "tragedy with triumph and defeat with purpose."

"I am so proud to be a South Carolinian and proud of what South Carolina has done to move this state forward."

Former Georgia governor: How we got Confederate emblem off Georgia's flag

Her speech had been heard across the country and found resonance in social media in South Carolina and as far away as California.

"If you're looking for who to thank for getting #ConfederateFlag down: @JennyHorne, @GCobbHunter who kept up the fight. Thank you SC," Shawn Drury, who says he's from South Carolina, posted to Twitter.

Jenny Horne is a Republican, and a descendant of Jefferson Davis.

As I've posted before, there is nothing wrong with people who for whatever reason want to fly the Confederate Flag. But when doing so frightens black people, when it's done to rub their noses in their own tragic history, when it's done to celebrate the bad and use it to frighten, worry or diminish other people, then it becomes what Jenny Horne called it, a "symbol of hate".

When a descendant of Jefferson Davis sees that, then that is what it is.

Still, I don't know what to think about the prosecution of what these thugs did in Georgi. With 20 years as possible sentences for their charges, it seems to me the charges are wrong. I don't believe this was done as an act of gang terrorism, I believe it was done to insult and frighten the people in that neighborhood through hate, not terrorism, so to me it seems it's a hate crime, not an act of terrorism. When prosecutors use "terrorism" in cases that aren't terrorism, they diminish the charge from one that killed thousands on 9/11 to one of nothing more than a bunch of hate-filled rednecks out fluttering their cloths and waving their guns to flaunt their racism to hurt further those suffering from it, and that is a hate crime, not an act of terrorism.

I don't fault you for your opinion.

Imagine substituting your high power inflection to the likes of the TEA party.

    HOUSTON, we have no problem!

It is interesting to me that all of this fear was generated not by a flag that represented the entire Confederacy, but by the State of Virginia Battle Flag.

It is a pity that this "fear", or ignorance and misinformation, has dishonored the Black Confederate Veterans and their descendants. JMO

    BLACK HISTORY MONTHBLACK CONFEDERATE HERITAGE

This fact sheet is prepared by the Sons of Confederate Veterans Education Committee for distribution to professors, teachers, librarians, principals, ethnicleaders, members of the press, and others interested in promoting an understanding of Black contributions to United States history. The SCV hopes thisinformation will enrich the celebration of Black History Month during February. This sheet may be freely copied and distributed without permission or notice;if republished in part or whole, please credit the Sons of Confederate Veterans.

"There are at the present moment, many colored men in the Confederate Army doing duty...as real soldiers, having muskets on their shoulders and bullets intheir pockets...." Frederick Douglas, former slave & abolitionist (Fall, 1861)

How many? Easily tens of thousands of blacks served the Confederacy as laborers, teamsters, cooks and even as soldiers. Some estimates indicate 25% offree blacks and 15% of slaves actively supported the South during the war.

Why? Blacks served the South because it was their home, and because they hoped for the reward of patriotism; for these reasons they fought in every warthrough Korea, even though it meant defending a segregated United States.

Emancipation? President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation did not free a single slave. Issued at a time when the Confederacy seemed to be winning thewar, Lincoln hoped to transform a disagreement over secession into a crusade against slavery, thus preventing Great Britain (and France) from interveningon the side of the South. The proclamation allowed slavery to continue in the North as well as in Tennessee and large parts of Louisiana and Virginia. Itapplied only to Confederate-held slaves, which Lincoln had no authority over, but not to slaves under Federal control.

Lincoln's Views? "I am not in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office...." 9/15/1858 campaign speech "I have nopurpose, directly or indirectly, to interfere with the institution of slavery...." 3/4/1861 First Inaugural Address "I am a little uneasy about the abolishment ofslavery in this District [of Columbia]...." 3/24/1862 letter to Horace Greeley

"If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it...." 8/22/1862letter to Horace Greeley, New York Tribune editor

Confederate: Famed bridge engineer and former slave Horace King received naval contracts for building Confederate warships. A black servant named SamAshe killed the first Union officer during the war, abolitionist Major Theodore Winthrop. John W. Buckner, a black private, was wounded at Ft. Wagnerrepulsing the U.S. (Colored) 54th Massachusetts Regiment. George Wallace, a servant who surrendered with General Lee at Appomattox, later served inthe Georgia Senate. Jim Lewis served General Stonewall Jackson, and was honored to hold his horse "Little Sorrel" at the general's funeral. Captured blackcook Dick Poplar suffered cruelty by Yankee Negro guards at Pt. Lookout, MD for being a "Jeff Davis man."

Union: A daring Robert Smalls engineered theft of the CSS Planter, presenting it to the Yankee blockading fleet at Charleston. Black Medal of Honorawardees Christian Fleetwood and William Carey bravely carried the banner at Ft. Wagner's assault in 1863.

Colonial: The first man to die for the American cause of freedom was Crispus Attucks, a black seaman from Boston. At the time of the American Revolution,New York City held almost as many slaves as all of Georgia combined.

Surprising Facts: In St. Louis, General John Fremont freed slaves of "disloyal" Missouri Confederates; an angry Lincoln fired him.

Slaves in Washington,D.C. were not freed until April 1862, a year after the war began with the firing at Ft. Sumter. Slavery continued throughout the entire war in five Union-heldstates: DE, MD, WV, KY and MO. The New York City draft riots of July 1863 resulted in burning of a beautiful black orphanage and lynching of blacks. Aprovision in the Confederate Constitution prohibited the African slave trade outright (unlike the U.S. Constitution). Encouraged by General Lee, the CSAeventually freed slaves who would join the army, and did recruit and arm black regiments. C.S. General Robert E. Lee freed his family slaves before the war;Union Gen. U.S. Grant kept his wife's slaves well into the war. Many blacks owned slaves themselves. In 1861 Charleston, for example, a free coloredplanter named William Ellison owned 70 slaves. Even in 1830 New York City, three decades before the war, eight black planters owned 17 slaves.

Blacks Today: Nelson W. Winbush, a retired educator and SCV member, lectures on his black Confederate ancestor, private Louis N. Nelson. A blackChicago funeral home owner, Ernest A. Griffin, flies the CSA battle flag and erected at his own expense a $20,000 monument to the 6,000 Confederatesoldiers who are buried on his property, once site of the Union prison Camp Douglas. Black professor Leonard Haynes (recently deceased) of SouthernUniversity (Baton Rouge) spoke regularly on black Confederates. American University's professor Edward Smith also lectures on the truth of blackConfederate history and, with Nelson W. Winbush, has prepared an educational videotape entitled "Black Southern Heritage" (available at (954) 963-4857)
