How a false media narrative made Ferguson worse

It was a split-screen spectacle, the president of the United States appealing for calm while Ferguson was starting to erupt in flames.
As Obama was saying “there is inevitably going to be some negative reaction, and it will make for good TV,” the images of tear gas and looting were competing for attention.

I don’t know that anything the president said at that point could have deterred the protestors and agitators after no indictment was returned, and here’s why: They were reacting to a media narrative that hardened into cement soon after the tragedy. And we now know that narrative was filled with misinformation.

We now know that some eyewitnesses changed their stories, or admitted they never actually saw the shooting.

But their accounts echoed across the media landscape, that Darren Wilson shot Michael Brown in the back, that Brown had his hands up, that he was trying to surrender.

As St. Louis County prosecutor Robert McCullough said in scolding the Fourth Estate:

“The most significant challenge encountered in this investigation has been the 24 hour news cycle, and its insatiable appetite for something for anything to talk about,” he said. “Following closely behind were non-stop rumors on social media.”

Now the media faced a major handicap in what became a one-sided story. Brown’s parents, understandably grief-stricken, were talking to sympathetic interviewers. Brown’s friends and allies were supporting him. And we had nothing from Wilson or the Ferguson Police Department.

For reasons I still don’t understand, they never put out even a rudimentary statement describing Wilson’s version of events.
The media didn’t know, until word leaked fairly late in the process, that Brown had scuffled with Wilson while the officer was in his police car, that two shots were fired, and that Wilson’s face was swollen from the confrontation. (The Washington Post and FoxNews.com erroneously reported that Wilson’s eye socket had been fractured.)

Without that information, with alleged eyewitnesses saying things that hadn’t been tested before a grand jury, the media had a fragmentary picture at best. We didn’t even know that Wilson had fired 12 shots during the tragic encounter.

But something else was at work as well. A white officer killing an unarmed black kid, a majority white police force deemed insensitive to a minority community, these are racially charged themes that the mainstream media often embrace. And while these are longstanding problems in America, it doesn't mean that every officer in every such situation is guilty.

At the same time, the initial riots in Ferguson boosted the story into a stratosphere even beyond that of Trayvon Martin. The media paratroopers invaded the Missouri suburb for the nightly clashes, their cameras drawing outside troublemakers, exacerbating the tensions and, of course, lifting ratings. (Monday’s rioting, which saw correspondents facing tear gas and rocks, is a reminder that covering such tinderbox events is risky business.)

Finally, we’ve learned the grand jury findings, that the preponderance of shows Wilson didn’t shoot Brown in the back and that he was afraid of the much bigger man he said looked like a "demon." Wilson told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that he wouldn’t have done anything differently and was worried Brown "would kill me." That doesn’t make him a hero, and I still wonder why he couldn’t have ended the confrontation without killing the man.

But it’s also clear that some commentators could not care less about the grand jury evidence, that they consider anything less than an indictment to be a miscarriage of justice. They are clinging to the original media narrative, which turns out to have been badly flawed.

BREAKING: Ferguson’s Michael Brown PICTURED Flashing GANG SIGNS

Posted by Jim Hoft on Thursday, August 14, 2014, 11:09 PM

    THUG LIFE…

Michael Brown was pictured several times flashing gang signs. The family released this photo to KSDK for a report.

One hand gesture means “What’s up blood?”

The two pictures on the left appear to depict two different hand signs that show allegiance to a “Bloods” street gang.

Here’s a graduation photo of Michael Brown.

New Michael Brown autopsy supports account of struggle with police officer
Government autopsy discovers gunshot wound in 18-year-old’s hand that supports ‘significant altercation’ in officer’s car

The government autopsy of Michael Brown, the 18-year-old whose death led to nights of unrest earlier this year in Ferguson, Missouri, discovered a gunshot wound that appears to support accounts of a struggle with the police officer who shot him dead.

An accompanying toxicology report also stated that Brown had marijuana in his body when he was killed.

The report of the post-mortem by the St Louis County medical examiner said that the largest gunshot wound found on Brown’s body was on his right hand, and that tissue from the wound appeared to contain gunpowder particles.

According to the autopsy report, Brown’s hand wound also showed no signs of stippling, a pattern of dots around the entry. Stippling tends to occur when someone is shot from relatively close range rather than in more immediate contact with a weapon.

Dr Michael Graham, the St Louis medical examiner, told the St Louis Post-Dispatch newspaper, which obtained Brown’s autopsy report, that it “does support that there was a significant altercation at the car”.

Dr Judy Melinek, a forensic pathologist in San Francisco, told the newspaper that the autopsy “supports the fact that this guy is reaching for the gun, if he has gunpowder particulate material in the wound”.

Police have said that officer Darren Wilson shot Brown on 9 August following a struggle over Wilson’s handgun at his car after Wilson stopped him and a friend for jaywalking. They have alleged that Brown assaulted the officer and left him with injuries to his face.

Several witnesses have stated publicly that Brown was shot fatally while fleeing Wilson and even while his hands were raised in an apparent gesture of surrender. Dr Michael Baden, who carried out a private autopsy for Brown’s family, said in August that “there weren’t signs of a struggle” on Brown’s body.

However, tissue from Brown’s body was also discovered on the outside of the driver’s side of Wilson’s police car, according to the county autopsy report. Federal investigators were previously reported to have told the New York Times that Brown’s blood was found inside the vehicle.

The official autopsy appeared to match the family’s private autopsy’s findings on where Brown was struck, and that the fatal shot entered the top of his head. Brown’s family’s lawyers have said this indicated that Brown was bowing down while surrendering; sources close to Wilson have said that the officer’s account is that Brown charged at him with his head bowed.

Baden, a former chief medical examiner for New York City, said when unveiling the private autopsy’s findings in August that his conclusions “could be consistent” with suggestions that Brown had been shot while charging at Wilson. “It’s possible,” he said.

The toxicology report, produced by the St Louis University toxicology laboratory, found that Brown’s blood contained 12 nanograms of THC, the active chemical in marijuana, per millilitre. Under recent changes to the law in Colorado, where marijuana can be used legally, drivers are presumed to be under the influence of the drug if their blood contains more than five nanograms per mililitre.

The way that Mike Brown stole the cigarillos and manhandled the clerk demanding payment is proof enough that he was not the gentle giant that his parents claim. I think the parents may need to take stock of themselves before taking the grand jury's inventory! Their willingness to misrepresent Michael is circumstantial evidence that upbringing definitely has a part in this story!

Then the step-father screams on camera "Burn the B___H Down!" Quite the respectable and law abiding family. Words like that were taken as an order from his infuriated friends. Maybe a lawsuit against him by those who lost businesses is in order. Or a charge of inciting a riot made by the prosecutor! I like the last idea, because that is provable s beyond a shadow of doubt!

Explosive New Video: Mike Brown Step-Dad: “I’m going to start a riot” Minutes Before He Climbs Car And Proclaims “Burn This Bitch Down”…

Posted on December 5, 2014 by sundance

After Mike Brown’s Step-Dad, Louis Head, screamed “burn this bitch down”, the surrounding crowd did just that. Ferguson Missouri erupted in arsonist flames and riots.

Now, explosive new video of the events leading up to the Ferguson riots shows Mr. Head pre-planning the clarion call. It was not, as his advocates and apologists have claimed, a poor display of spontaneous emotion.

Mr. Head is bottom of screen, center/left:

    <font color="#333333"><span style="font-family: Georgia">

    @00:16 …”no, if I get up there, I’m going to start a riot”…

In the aftermath of the violence, looting and arson, Saint Louis authorities stated they were looking into potential criminal charges against Mr. Head which might include “incitement to riot”.

Despite both Mike Brown’s mom, Lesley McSpadden, and Step-Dad Louis Head, having prior knowledge of the grand jury decision – the sympathetic media, the members of the Mike Brown family, and the overwhelming majority of the professional grievance class, dismissed potential criminal charges and even attacked law enforcement for proposing such an insensitive position.

The sympathetic advocates claimed Mr. Louis Head was overwhelmed with instantaneous emotion, and should not be held accountable for his repeated angry spontaneous outburst: “Burn This F**king Bitch Down“!

Last Wednesday Mr. Head issued a statement through the Brown family attorney:
“I screamed out words that I shouldn’t have screamed in the heat of the moment,” Head said in a statement sent to media outlets. “It was wrong and I humbly apologize to all of those who read my pain and anger as true desire for what I want for our community. It wasn’t.”

However, this explosive video proves that Louis Head’s call to violence was not spontaneous, or in the emotional “heat of the moment“. Before he climbed on the car to join Lesley McSpadden, Mike Brown’s step-dad clearly says:
    <strong>

@00:16 “Burn,… no, if I get up there, I’m going to start a riot

There is absolutely no doubt Louis Head is exhibiting both “malice of forethought”, and “specific intent”.

    Transcript:

    Lesley McSpadden: :02 “Y’all wrong, y’all wrong, y’all wrong, y’all wrong”

Louis Head: 00:08 “Burn this bitch down”

    McSpadden: 00:09 “They Wrong”

Head: 00:10 “Burn this bitch down”

Head: 00:12 “Burn this bitch down”

Head: 00:15 “Burn,… no, if I get up there, I’m gonna start a riot”
Head: 00:18 “Burn this shit down”

McSpadden: 00:25 “why Lord, why, why”? “They still don’t care.” “They ain’t never gonna care”.

[…] At 01:15 Louis Head climbs onto top of vehicle with McSpadden. Moments later, as he previously stated he would, Louis Head begins the chant “Burn this bitch down”

Head: 01:47 “Burn this bitch down, burn this bitch down”. “Hand me a ****ing mic”. “Burn this bitch down”. “Burn this bitch down”. “Burn this bitch down”.

In the pictorial collage below the top two pictures show characters surrounding Louis Head when instructions were shouted to crowd. The bottom four pictures show the same characters burning a Saint Louis Police car moments later.

Michael Brown’s Stepfather “Documented Gang Banger,” Member of Bloods Gang

    Jodi Swan

    December 2, 2014 12:42pm PST

The mainstream media sure has a lot to say about the fatal shooting of Michael Brown, but they have been notably silent on the Brown family’s known affiliation with the notorious Bloods street gang.

A top-ranked member of the Ferguson Police Department told gotnews.com that Louis Head, Michael Brown’s stepfather, is a “documented gang banger.”

The officer who leaked the information has spent decades on the force and has close ties with Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson. His first name is understood to be “Dan.” His last name is unknown.

(Read More: Michael Brown’s Stepfather Will be “Prosecuted to the Full Extent of the Law”)

This new information explains why Michael Brown’s mother and stepfather wore red to his funeral. Many scratched their heads at the grave sign of disrespect, but now it makes sense, considering red is the signature color of the Bloods.

(Read More: You Won’t Believe Who The Brown Family Is Teaming Up With Now…)

Michael Brown was also pictured flashing gang sings associated with the Bloods before his death.

The more we find out about the Brown family, the worse they look. Share this article to expose the lie that Michael Brown was a “gentle giant” and his family are upstanding members of the community.

Ferguson Lynch Mob Leaders Convene at the White House

December 2, 2014 by Matthew Vadum 96 Comments

Matthew Vadum is an award-winning investigative reporter and the author of the book, "Subversion Inc.: How Obama’s ACORN Red Shirts Are Still Terrorizing and Ripping Off American Taxpayers."

A week after grand jurors in Ferguson, Mo., did their civic duty and resisted pressure from President Obama on down to lynch an innocent police officer, Al Sharpton and Ferguson riot leaders gathered at the White House yesterday to make plans to further exacerbate the racial tensions they created in order to cripple the economy and attack civil society.

These domestic subversives refuse to accept the official finding Nov. 24 that no probable cause existed to charge police officer Darren Wilson, who is white, in the Aug. 9 death of Michael Brown, who was black.

The finding of “no true bill” contradicts the Left’s preferred narrative that racist white cops are gunning down innocent blacks with impunity. The failure to indict Wilson, who has since resigned from the Ferguson police department, has driven left-wingers and racial grievance mongers into an exquisite state of apoplexy. They refuse to accept that the evidence considered by the grand jury overwhelmingly, indisputably demonstrated that Brown tried to seize Wilson’s gun in an attempt to do the officer harm. To put it more bluntly, there is proof that in their fateful 90-second encounter Brown tried to kill Wilson, even though the media has consistently identified Wilson as the aggressor.

But facts are rarely obstacles when left-wingers set their minds on something.

At the initial White House meeting of the Michael Brown truther brigade, Obama proceeded from the demonstrably false assumption that a tragic injustice was done to the late teenaged thug. The president said:
As I said last week in the wake of the grand jury decision, I think Ferguson laid bare a problem that is not unique to St. Louis or that area, and is not unique to our time, and that is a simmering distrust that exists between too many police departments and too many communities of color. The sense that in a country where one of our basic principles, perhaps the most important principle, is equality under the law, that too many individuals, particularly young people of color, do not feel as if they are being treated fairly.

To remedy this problem that was far less of a problem before Obama was inaugurated, the president announced he was appointing two left-wing establishment puppets to head a useless task force
to reach out and listen to law enforcement, and community activists and other stakeholders, but is going to report to me specifically in 90 days with concrete recommendations, including best practices for communities where law enforcement and neighborhoods are working well together — how do they create accountability; how do they create transparency; how do they create trust; and how can we at the federal level work with state and local communities to make sure that some of those best practices get institutionalized.

Even though there is no evidence of wrongdoing on the part of Darren Wilson, police officers are going to receive stricter scrutiny. Obama also proposed spending $263 million to put body cameras on cops.

Much of this soothing, focus group-tested Washington-speak sounds fairly innocuous until the guest list for the event is revealed. The same people who instigated the riots and looting in Ferguson were in attendance listening to the Community Organizer in Chief. Among the attendees were: Ashley Yates, Millennial Activists United; Rasheen Aldridge, Young Activists St. Louis; Brittany Packnett, St. Louis educator and activist; T-Dubb-O, St. Louis hip-hop artist; James Hayes, Ohio Students Association; Phillip Agnew, Dream Defenders; and Jose Lopez, Make the Road New York.

These people are the problem, not the solution. They had no business being at the table (but then again, neither does Obama).
Yates went so far as to go on record the month before the grand jury decision as saying violence would be a legitimate response to a non-indictment in the Darren Wilson case.

“If they can’t serve justice in this, the people have every right to go out and express their rage in a manner that is equal to what we have suffered,” Yates said at the time.

“We’re going to take our anger out on the people who have failed us, and if they are prepared to deal with that, then let them have at it,” he said.

New York’s radical mayor Bill de Blasio and Al Sharpton, whose racist, hate-filled rants have gotten Americans killed on more than one occasion, were also in attendance at the White House yesterday.

The day before, Sharpton was in Ferguson pledging more violent protests. “You won the first round, Mr. Prosecutor, but don’t take your gloves off,” Sharpton said. “Justice will come to Ferguson.”

“We’re not gonna stop marching and protesting until we do,” he said.

Sharpton isn’t even the most radical member of the leftist lynch mob screaming for Wilson’s blood.

The most explicit of the fire-breathing racist filth-purveyors in the Brown saga has to be professional white-hater and anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan. Before an audience at Baltimore’s Morgan State University he promised a violent uprising. If the demands of demonstrators who want Wilson dead are not met, “we’ll tear this goddamn country apart!”

Peaceful protests are only in the interest of “white folks,” said Farrakhan, who himself ought to be under constant FBI surveillance. “We going to die anyway,” he said. “Let’s die for something,” the Nation of Islam (NOI) head said to enthusiastic applause.
The parents of teenaged children need to show their kids how to lob Molotov cocktails, said Farrakhan, who is essentially the Islamic version of Obama’s longtime preacher Jeremiah Wright. “Teach your baby how to throw the bottle if they can. Fight,” he said, gesturing as if throwing an incendiary device.

Farrakhan said there is a “law of retaliation” in both the Bible and the Koran that demands the use of deadly force. “A law for retaliation,” he repeated while holding what appeared to be the NOI version of the Koran.

White Americans will only start taking black concerns seriously if blacks begin killing them, he said.

“As long as they [whites] kill us [blacks] and go to Wendy’s and have a burger and go to sleep, they’ll keep killing us,” said Farrakhan, who openly supports Islamic terrorist regimes abroad. “But when we die and they die, then soon we’re going to sit at a table and talk about it! We’re tired! We want some of this earth or we’ll tear this goddamn country up!”

Although President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder and their confederates in the media set the stage for the Ferguson-related civil unrest, publicly urging restraint and nonviolent protest on the one hand while claiming that police departments are hotbeds of racism that need to be reformed, Farrakhan attacked the two men for their perceived willingness to compromise.

Obama, Holder, and other black leaders show how out of touch they are with young blacks when they embrace what Farrakhan called “compromise.” By urging calm these leaders are betraying blacks and doing the bidding of “white people.”

“Tonight in Ferguson everybody is on edge,” Farrakhan said, implying the terror innocent citizens feel at the prospect of mob violence is a wonderful, useful thing.

In a way his comments echo those made a century earlier by Felix Dzerzhinsky, the founder of the Soviet secret police. “We stand for organized terror — this should be frankly admitted. Terror is an absolute necessity during times of revolution.”

Whatever makes whites nervous furthers the fundamental transformation of the United States, as the Left sees it.

“White folks have never been on edge after they killed a black man. Tonight they’re on edge; so on edge that our president has come out from behind the curtain to ask young black people: ‘Cool it. That’s not our way.’” Farrakhan said. “I heard you, Mr. President; and I asked myself a question: What brings you out of the shadows?”

Anyone who has followed Farrakhan knows he is dangerously mental unstable even on a good day but his lack of sound mind has never prevented him from spreading his gospel of hate or from winning fans on the Left. Anyone who is honest will acknowledge that the American activist Left has a long history of embracing deranged cult leaders from Rev. Jim Jones of the Peoples Temple in Guyana and Charles Manson to Revs. Jeremiah Wright and Al Sharpton.

Insanity is not in short supply on the topic of Michael Brown. Following the announcement of the non-indictment a week ago, Michael Brown’s stepfather urged an angry mob consisting of several hundred protesters to “Burn this bitch down!” This incitement to riot committed by Louis Head was captured on video.

Head, by the way, is a member of the notorious criminal street gang known as the Bloods. This may help to explain why photos exist showing Brown flashing Blood gang signals and why Brown’s family wore red, the Bloods’ color, to his funeral. Head has two felony narcotics convictions. When released on parole, he violated probation and was remanded to state prison.

Strong-arm robbery is apparently a favorite crime in Brown’s family. Both Head and Brown’s mother Lesley McSpadden are themselves being investigated by Ferguson police for the Oct. 18 robbery and assault of three vendors who were selling “Justice for Mike Brown” merchandise. A police report indicated 20 to 30 people rushed the sellers, taking $400 in cash and $1,500 in goods. McSpadden herself reportedly punched one of the vendors, Brown’s grandmother Pearlie Gordon.

The night of the announcement a minimum of 10 businesses and two police cars were destroyed or damaged by fire in Ferguson, and police arrested 61 individuals. Inexplicably on Nov. 24 Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon ordered the Missouri National Guard to stand down. Nixon had mobilized the Guard to deal with potential post-announcement unrest. Perhaps Obama’s people, who believe that blacks are entitled to riot at perceived injustices, got to him.

On the evening of the announcement, a 20-year-old man named Deandre Joshua was killed and set on fire in his car, mere feet from where Brown died months before. Joshua, a friend of Brown’s robbery accomplice Dorian Johnson, may have been a grand jury witness who corroborated Wilson’s story. One theory is he was killed in retaliation for his testimony.

Johnson is the recidivist lowlife who gave birth to the Big Lie that Brown tried to surrender to Wilson and was then gunned down by the police officer in cold blood. Even though Johnson’s false testimony was ultimately demolished by the evidence, scientific and otherwise, it helped to spur the “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” protest movement.

It could be argued that Johnson is at least as morally culpable of attempting to murder Wilson as Brown was because Johnson tried to frame Wilson. If Wilson had been convicted of murder he could have faced the death penalty for murder. Supporters of Wilson are trying to obtain a least a small measure of justice by having Johnson indicted for perjury but these efforts seem pointless in the current political climate.

Meanwhile, the Left is now trying to inflict as much pain as possible on black Americans in order to drive them to open revolt. The more black businesses are burnt to the ground, the better, in their view. Anyone killed in the process can be celebrated as a martyr for the cause.

Citing the purchasing power of black Americans, activists have been urging blacks and others to boycott retailers. Those involved in the Black Friday protests at big-box stores and sophomoric “die-ins” in major cities across the country four days ago are the same people who show up at Occupy Wall Street protests and demonstrations supporting minimum wage increases. The Left excels at recycling its activists. More actions were scheduled for yesterday, informally dubbed Cyber Monday, supposedly the biggest e-commerce sales day of the year.

Profit-generating businesses that communities need in order to survive are fair game in this effort to stamp out the parts of civil society that the Obama junta hasn’t gotten around to obliterating yet. This sick vengeance directed against people who had nothing to do with the demise of Michael Brown is justified because, as a Sixties radical once wrote, “The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution.” To left-wing sociopaths, innocent people are mere pieces on a chessboard.

Saul Alinsky-inspired groups have been busy agitating this holiday season.

As this writer previously reported, the remnants of the ACORN activist empire have been deeply involved in the unrest in Ferguson. Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment (MORE), a nonprofit group, is the rebranded Missouri branch of the former Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). President Obama used to work for ACORN, and he represented it in court as a lawyer.

MORE has been active in the protests and in efforts to free jailed demonstrators so they can continue vandalizing businesses, intimidating perceived adversaries, setting fires, throwing projectiles and urine at cops, and engaging in the left’s usual modes of so-called nonviolent protest. MORE believes that protesters should be given a blank check to inflict whatever harm they wish on the community in pursuit of social justice.

We now learn that an ACORN successor group was involved in recent post-grand jury decision unrest in Brooklyn, N.Y. New York Communities for Change (NYCC), another offspring of ACORN, was involved in disruptive demonstrations alongside Al Sharpton’s group, National Action Network. The Working Families Party, founded in New York State in the 1990s by ACORN members, is also involved in Ferguson-related actions.
But there is some good news.

There is evidence that ordinary Americans are beginning to fight back against all this mindless, destructive activism by left-wingers who want to hurt blacks and the American system as a whole.

An Internet video that has gone viral shows angry employees trying to get to work last Wednesday giving activists blocking a highway a major dressing-down.

“I gotta go to Ross right now, homie,” Tyree Landrum said on Interstate 5 near San Diego. “If I don’t get there, I’m gonna get fired. I got six f***ing kids to feed, I gotta get this car off the… Day goes on homie. M*****f***ers get shot every f***ing day. Deal with it the right f***ing way, not like this.”

Landrum appears in the video yelling at a road-blocking protester. “I’m about to lose my f***ing job, and you guys are f***ing out here protesting?”

A woman wearing medical scrubs was shown leaving her vehicle and joining in the yelling. “Arrest them!” the nurse shouted. “We have doctors and nurses that have to save lives here.”

Landrum told reporters he works three jobs. When an activist put a megaphone in his face, Landrum fought back.

“I’m like get this bullhorn out of my face,” he said. “At that point I was confused, frustrated, and completely angry.”
“I’m nobody special,” Landrum said. “Just doing what I thought was right.”

Tyree Landrum’s expletive-laden protest against demonstrators trying to deprive black men like him of a living is eloquent testimony to the desperation that normal Americans feel in the face of the crazy race-hatred and chaos that the Left has unleashed in this country.
If righteous explosions like Landrum’s start breaking out more regularly on the fruited plain, the Left won’t have a chance.
