Hunter Biden’s Lawyers Meet With DOJ Officials

Attorneys for Hunter Biden met with DOJ officials on Wednesday.
His legal team had requested an update on the case against him.
CNN reported:
Lawyers for Hunter Biden met with Justice Department officials on Wednesday to discuss the long-running criminal investigation into the president’s son.
Hunter Biden’s longtime attorney Chris Clark, along with several other attorneys, were spotted by CNN heading into Justice Department headquarters early Wednesday. When reached afterward, Clark declined to comment.
In attendance at the meeting were officials from the Justice Department’s tax division and the Delaware US attorney’s office, according to a person familiar with the meeting. The tax division is led by a career DOJ lawyer as there still isn’t a Senate-confirmed appointee.
David Weiss, the Trump-appointed Delaware US Attorney, has been overseeing the investigation into Hunter Biden.
Prosecutors are considering 4 charges against Hunter Biden.
NBC News reported:
Prosecutors have considered charging Hunter with four criminal counts, NBC reported last week, including two counts of misdemeanor failure to file taxes. The third charge would be a felony count of tax evasion in connection with a business expense.
The fourth charge would be a felony related to an alleged false statement related to a gun purchase in 2018, when Hunter wrote on a form that he was neither addicted to nor abusing any unlawful substance. At the time, Hunter was using cocaine, he has since admitted.
NBC also reported that two senior law enforcement sources said there is “growing frustration” inside the FBI because the majority of the investigation by bureau agents had been completed a year or so ago.
Meanwhile, Democrats are still pushing with hunts into Donald Trump.
