here are a few private gun owners left in England. What they have to endure shows once again why Americans are no longer British.
To get a gun in England, the burden of proof is on the citizen. And, no, self-defense is not one of the accepted reasons for wanting to buy a gun. It doesn’t really matter, because guns have to be kept locked in a safe so they will not be available for self-defense.

The British law is so rigid that the Olympic pistol team has to fly to Belgium to practice.
Breitbart.com ran an article by Andre Walker on October 14 reporting that the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) has kicked off a campaign to make warrantless entry (remember this is the United Kingdom with no Fourth Amendment) into peoples’ homes and make unannounced inspections.

England has the world’s fourth highest violent crime rate. Admittedly its murder rate is quite low, at 1.3 per 100,000. Yet Fairfax County, Virginia, in which Gun Owners of America is located, has a murder rate of 1 per 100,000. The county has over a million inhabitants and is quite close to Washington, DC so Gun Owners of America can lobby on Capitol Hill. In all of Virginia, concealed carry permits are fairly easily obtained.
Moreover, handguns may be openly carried in a holster. Not long ago, I was paying for some purchases when a customer walked through the door with a handgun holstered on his hip. The clerk took notice of it and finished checking me out.
But ACPO doesn’t think the British gun laws are tough enough. The group has publicly pushed for tighter controls even though British police are supposed to be politically neutral.

ACPO was rebuked by the leader of an up and coming right of center party, the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP). The party seeks to withdraw from the European Union which is governed by unelected bureaucrats who are accountable to no one.
Earlier this year Greater Manchester Police Chief Constable Peter Fahy publicly rebuked UKIP leader Nigel Farange after he suggested hand gun regulations were too tough. Fahy said: “We should all be grateful that we have got such tight gun control in this country when you look at the States – it’s awful over there.”
Chief Constable Fahy reminding us once again why we are no longer British. Mr. Fahy, we have our Second Amendment to protect us from people like you.
Twice in recent history, guns in the private possession of the people have been the tools used to resist tyranny. During the August, 1946 Democrat primary in Athens, Tennessee, the police walked off with the ballot boxes and took them to the police station. Armed men with rifles arrived in pickup trucks and automobiles. A brief firefight ensued, after which the police realized they had better stand down. They did, and the reform party won – because the votes were honestly counted after all.
More recently Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy was attacked by a SWAT team from the rogue Bureau of Land Management (BLM). People spontaneously came to his defense resulting in an armed standoff. The BLM stood down.
This is what Chief Constable Fahy thinks is “awful over there.” Admittedly, dictatorship is much more difficult when dealing with an armed populace.

AND THEN came IRS audits of conservative groups to limit fund raising prior to the 2012 election. IRS computer hard drives mysteriously crashed and burned. Obama declared that “not a smidgeon of IRS corruption” was found. Lois Lerner, who followed marching orders from her White House boss, resigned. Tch! Tch! Tch! Poor baby! Now she must scrape by on a paltry $100,000+ annual government pension, courtesy of We-the-taxpayers. (Did you receive a “thank you” note? Neither did I. Must be the postal system . . . but I digress. That’s a story for another day.)

NOW COMES THE TIME to wave bye-bye to Iraq, courtesy of Obama and his political advisors who made sure no residual force was left behind to help guide military operations in the fledgling democracy. How’d that work out for America? Not so well. Despite the death of 4,500+ brave warriors, injuries to another 35,000, and $1.7 Trillion dollars, Iraq is failing. ISIL has captured America/Iraqi armaments which they use to gain control of major Iraq cities, slaughter thousands, and take over Kurdish territory. While ISIL closes in on Baghdad, Obama bombs small trucks and grain warehouses, claims victory, and refuses to fully arm the Kurds who are the only boots on the ground fighting against ISIL.
Vote your anger! Fire politicians who lie, deny, falsify, and did not demand a “status of forces agreement” to keep a residual force in Iraq.
COMING SOON, another tragic waste of blood and treasure as American-built outposts are turned over to the Afghanistan military (such as it is), and the Taliban returns with vengeance. Despite the loss of 2,500 lives of our best and bravest, and billions of dollars worth of “ghost money bribes” paid to former Afghan President Karzai, Obama has ordered an Iraq-like retreat from Afghanistan. He has set the stage for ISIL.2.

BE MINDFUL of the Ebola crisis in West Africa. As healthcare workers and others with symptoms of the disease land in America, Obama threatens state governors not to quarantine people coming from the plague zone. He also is talking about bringing Ebola-infected patients from Africa to America for treatment. What about that makes sense? Or, is the motive the usual, “gotta’ level the playing field?”
And, in the meantime, Obama plays golf, travels from fund raiser to fund raiser, but isn’t invited to many campaign events. His fellow-travelers don’t want any publicity about their support of his program to lie, deny, and falsify.
Vote your anger! Fire politicians who lie, deny, falsify, and agree with Obama’s handling of the Ebola crisis.
AND FINALLY, remember the names of the corrupt-o-crats who whitewashed Fast and Furious; do nothing to close our open borders; ignore NSA spying; don’t care about journalist wiretaps; throw Israel under the bus; push for gun control; cheered the Bergdahl/Taliban prisoner swap; support welfare/ballots/amnesty for millions of illegal aliens; fight against voter ID and enable voter fraud; push for government control of the Internet; welcome Muslim Brotherhood advisors to Obama’s inner circle, and serve as foot soldiers in the Obama-Alinsky army, following orders as they fundamentally transform America.
By Obama’s own admission, the Democrats in congress are on his team, carrying out his goals. At last, he tells the truth.

Bloomberg gun-control group targets more than 12 states

WASHINGTON — Fresh off a string of election victories, former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg's gun-control group is gearing up for a "significant" legislative push in more than a dozen states to curb gun violence, its leaders say.
First up: Nevada, where election officials could certify this week that the group and its allies have collected enough signatures for a 2016 ballot initiative that would impose stricter background checks on people buying firearms from private sellers and at gun shows. Bloomberg's Everytown for Gun Safety also is weighing similar background-check initiatives in Arizona and Maine.
It also plans to back legislation in several states that would either expand background checks for gun purchasers, remove guns from the hands of domestic abusers or give family members the power to seek court orders to temporarily confiscate firearms from people they fear may commit gun violence — modeled on a "gun-violence restraining order" law signed by California Gov. Jerry Brown earlier this fall following a shooting rampage in Santa Barbara.
The California law, the first of its kind, is one of a slew of little-noticed victories gun-control groups have scored at the state level — even as Congress has rebuffed expanding background checks on all commercial sales of guns or restrictions on high-capacity magazines.
Six states have enacted measures that make it harder for people convicted of domestic violence to have firearms. In Colorado last month, two legislative seats lost in the state's historic 2013 recall election over the state's stricter gun-control laws moved back to Democratic control. One of the victors, Michael Merrifield, once worked for a Bloomberg gun-control group.
On Thursday, meanwhile, a voter initiative that expanded background checks in Washington state will take effect — joining six other states and the District of Columbia that require background checks on all firearm sales, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.
The successes come as the second anniversary of the Dec. 14, 2012, mass shooting at a Newtown, Conn., elementary school approaches. The massacre left 20 schoolchildren and six educators dead and sparked a national debate about gun laws.
"This is a huge amount of movement in two years on an issue where Republicans and Democrats ran for the hills for more than a decade," said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety. "We're going to build on the successes of 2014 and do more."

Bloomberg pledges $50 million to battle NRA



The group still is identifying the states in which it will be active, but could end up participating in legislative fights in as many as 20 states, officials say.
In all, Everytown spent $12.1 million on the 2014 election battles, including the Washington ballot initiative and legislative contests in states such as Colorado and Oregon, said spokeswoman Erika Soto Lamb. It's part of a $50 million election-year commitment Bloomberg made to gun-violence prevention.
Americans for Responsible Solutions PAC, a gun-control super PAC started by former Arizona congresswoman Gabby Giffords, spent $10.5 million on politics this year. Pia Carusone, a senior adviser to the group, said ballot initiatives are a "promising" way for gun-control proponents to take their case directly to voters.
"They have come up with a strategy that seems to be working so far," said Robert Spitzer, a political scientist at State University of New York-Cortland and an expert on gun politics. "For the first time in gun-politics history, the NRA is being outspent by the pro-gun control forces."
Bloomberg's group has suffered setbacks. While gun-control governors in Colorado and Connecticut prevailed at the ballot box last month, another Everytown-backed gubernatorial candidate, Maryland Democrat Anthony Brown, lost. It also backed unsuccessful Democrats in U.S. Senate races, including Sens. Mark Udall in Colorado and Kay Hagan in North Carolina.
The Nevada ballot initiative push comes after the state's Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval, vetoed another background-check measure backed by Bloomberg in 2013.
The National Rifle Association has pledged to fight Bloomberg at the state level and has sought to portray the billionaire as a rich carpetbagger seeking to impose his will in wide swaths of the country.
"Their approach is to go into states where it's easy to pass something and claim national momentum," NRA spokesman Andrew Arulanandam said of Bloomberg's group.

NRA launches new round of anti-Bloomberg ads



"We have $38 billion reasons to take Mike Bloomberg seriously," he added, referring to estimates to Bloomberg's net worth. "His money has exponential reach."
In a sign of its organizing strength, a Bloomberg-aligned group said it has collected a record 247,000 signatures for the Nevada ballot initiative — more than double the number necessary to qualify for the 2016 ballot.
Clerks in each of the state's 17 counties have until Thursday to sample petitions and report any problems with the signatures, and the state could certify the petitions as early as Friday, said Catherine Lu, a spokeswoman with the Nevada secretary of State's office.
A gun-rights group in the state, Nevadans for State Gun Rights, is trying to challenge the petitions, arguing that initiative proponents missed the deadline to deliver signatures in one county. The group's president Don Turner said he doesn't have the resources to mount a full challenge to all the signatures nor has he received the NRA's help in trying to kill off the Bloomberg effort in its early stages.
"There's an old saying that, 'If you want to be a big dog, you've got to get off the porch,' " Turner said. "Right now, they are just watching," he said of NRA officials.
Arulanandam declined to discuss the NRA's strategy to counter Bloomberg in specific states.
NRA officials "may be doing a bit of political triage in terms of how and where they allocate their resources," Spitzer said. "I have a feeling the NRA thinks they could be bled dry if they try to match Bloomberg's spending."

BOMBSHELL — VA to Veterans: If You’re Late Paying Bills, We Will Prohibit You From Ever Owning a Firearm…

Since I wrote this article titled “Disarming America’s Heroes” I have been inundated with emails and phone calls from veterans and the families of veterans. The horror stories I am hearing are proof that the VA and the Obama administration have launched an all out assault on the Constitutional rights of our nation’s wounded warriors and other veterans.

Veterans are being declared incompetent not because they have a serious mental illness that makes them a danger to themselves or others, but because they have a physical disability resulting from their service in the armed forces or because they simply let their spouses pay the family bills.

If veterans have minor issues with PTSD, have expressed that they are depressed sometimes, or even in the case of Vietnam veterans admit that they are getting older and sometimes forget to pay their bills on time, the bureaucrats at the VA will seek to declare them incompetent.
(I am a 65 year old veteran and often forget where I put my car keys, does that make me incompetent to handle my own financial affairs and even worse mean that I can’t own a firearm?) According to the VA it apparently does.

All of this has resulted in America’s heroes being declared incompetent by a process that blatantly violates their rights to due process under the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution. Then, for reasons that have not been explained these same veterans are also being denied their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

Many of the veterans I have heard from were initially both scared because of what was happening to them, and hurt because it is their own government that is causing this fear.

After all, when they joined the military they signed a blank check to their country to defend it and its Constitution even if it cost them their lives. Yet, now their own government is turning on them and taking from them the very Constitutional rights they fought to preserve.

'Gun Gap’ Widens as Senate Race Tightens -- GOA ‘A’ rated Ernst hangs on to narrow lead in polls

With the Senate race between Joni Ernst and Bruce Braley tightening to within one point, the differences between the two on Second Amendment rights is widening more than ever.
Braley, the Democrat candidate, recently attacked his Republican opponent for running a TV ad “where she was shooting a pistol into the camera, and saying ‘let me take aim at ObamaCare.’”
So what’s wrong with that? Well, says Braley who is “F” rated by Gun Owners of America, the ad “came out right before the tragic shooting in Santa Barbara.”
Um, excuse us? Did Braley really just try to link the two events? Oh, yes he did.
Never mind the fact that the ad was uploaded to YouTube weeks before the shooting ... that it was uploaded by a candidate who is halfway across the country ... and that the real reasons for the California shooter’s killing spree were well-documented in his 141-page manifesto -- none of which mentioned Ernst’s ad.
Guy Benson, who is a TownHall.com columnist, had this to say about the crazy effort on Braley’s part to connect the shooting and Ernst’s ad:
Braley's ghoulish effort to connect the two was as clumsy as it was nonsensical. A lighthearted political ad featuring an Iowa candidate shooting at the range had absolutely nothing to do with a deranged person's murder spree in California.
But that’s not all.
Braley lies about connections to Bloomberg
Rep. Bruce Braley likes to vote against your Second Amendment rights, but then keep you in the dark about it.
When Braley was challenged on his anti-gun views, he tried to downplay his record and distance himself from the God-Father of Gun Control, the former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Braley said he’d never met the man, even though ... wait for it ... he attended a No Labels conference with him.
Not only that, Braley’s own press release had touted the fact that he attended the conference with Bloomberg.
To combat this damning evidence, Braley supporters claimed that Bloomberg hadn’t actually attended the event after all.
But the photographic evidence tells a different story:

So to review the bidding: Braley is “F” rated by Gun Owners of America -- that’s Strike One.
Then Braley tried to demonize gun owners by linking his opponent’s firing a gun to a deranged murderer half way across the country -- that’s Strike Two.
Finally, Braley lied about his connections to the God-Father of Gun Control -- that’s Strike Three.
ACTION: Thank Joni Ernst for standing strong in favor of your gun rights. She’s coming under attack for supporting the Second Amendment, so we don’t want her to feel like she’s standing alone in support of our gun rights.
