Census Bureau Working To Make Sure Charlotte Immigrants Counted

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- How many people are in Charlotte?

That’s a question the federal government attempts to answer one time every decade. Each person counted means more money for the city.

But Laura McClettie of the U.S. Census Bureau in Charlotte said it’s a challenge because not everyone wants to be involved in a governmental program. One target area for census workers is Charlotte's fast-growing Hispanic population.
