Phoenix Police Say 13 Shootings Related

PHOENIX -- Police believe 13 shootings since May, including two during the weekend that wounded two people, are connected, possibly making it the third series of shooting attacks in the city over the past year.

The most recent shootings follow 11 others that began on May 2, Sgt. Andy Hill said.

Detectives are not positive they all are linked but evidence and circumstances lead them to believe they are. The 13 shootings happened late in the evening or early in the morning, and most involved people walking or riding bicycles.

Early Saturday, a woman was shot in the head as she was walking. About 20 minutes later a man was shot in the back.

A task force of detectives already was trying to track down a serial killer they believe is responsible for five killings and a series of rapes and assaults that began in August. They're also investigating a series of at least 25 random shootings of animals and people in which several people have died since May 2005.

There's nothing to link the recent string of cases to the earlier serial crimes, Hill said.

Now personally I have suspected this was linked to the unsuccessful "Day without an Immigrant", as one persons sick frustration that May 1st did not have the desired affect on the U.S. economy they wanted it to have.

The fact these articles contain ZERO description of the attacker or attackers and vehicles is suspect. Someone needs to make a call and ask what the description of the assailant is.

According to the news website: www.azcentral.com They have very little information and there are two types of killers at large. One is a sniper randomly shooting people and the other is a serial rapist and murderer and unfortunately there are not many live victims to give information. They do have a composite sketch but believe it to be a disguise. They said they have 100 detectives working on this case since last year but have not released any real information on either of these criminals in the news yet.

I have wondered with all the recent violence in AZ and the other in Indiana was not someone possibly taking what Gutierrez said as an invitation to follow through?

William, is there any way to find out the "ethnicity" of the victims? Are they simply all Americans or random?

As for the identity of the killer(s), from what I have seen, this person wears a disguise so trying to second guess their ethnicity, and if it was part of their motives of course is impossible.
