“He said: what were you thinking when you did this? I said: I thought she was white, she looks like my family! He scoffed & said: "what u have done is egregious, and unforgivable.' I begged 4 my crews jobs. Will I ever recover from this pain? Omg”
See? Just like me, I thought Valerie Jarrett was white. How can it be racist if you think the person is white because they look white??

Roseanne is INNOCENT of racism. Uncancel her cancellation, ABC. Be men, be grown-ups, you're in the entertainment business, not the sorting out of who is white and who isn't.

By the way, why did ABC think Valerie Jarrett was black when she looks white? Did someone tell them she was black and who was that? Did they go snooping around in her DNA, her personal background?

So you are a racist too? If you throw racist slurs around, you don't have to sling them at any specific person for it to be hurtful.

I guess they were more aware than you and Roseanne. I knew because when I Jarrett started being know as the brains behind Obama, I looked her up. And I found that he had a Black administration, with Holder, Emmanuel and a few token whites.

I guess I am prejudice because I took note of that!

What can we say when the target of her racism is undeniable?

I've heard all types of white people called apes, baboons, chimps and our current President they call an orangutan. I'm not clear on what the ape word has to do with racism. We all came from apes, all of us, all shades.

Black Americans aren't protected against insults any more than anyone else is, and no one else is. They're protected against racism. Racism is when you cheat someone, refuse to hire them, refuse to pay them, refuse to serve them, arrest and incarcerate them without cause and kill them without reason because of their race. That is racism. I think everyone needs to stay focused and keep their eye on the ball, if you know what I mean. I've been called all types of names, horrible things, because I had an opinion someone didn't like. I've been denied jobs because I am woman, when I was hired, I was paid far less than male counterparts simply because I am a woman, in business, I've had clients breach their contracts and refuse to pay, simply because the amount was more than they thought a woman should earn. I know all about discrimination. Calling honchos, regardless of their race, who work or worked in high positions in the White House of an administration names and throwing insults at them isn't discrimination and it's not racism. It's political insults. It's gone on forever in this country, and I imagine other countries as well.

Roseanne Barr has been throwing insults at people as part of her comedy act her whole career. She's like a female lower-key version of Don Rickles. You remember Don Rickles? He was an insult comedian.

Roseanne deserves her show back, she should have never been canceled over that tweet. No one should have their show contract canceled over something like that. She shouldn't have done the tweet, it wasn't funny, she's apologized, she is not a racist and has never been a racist, she fights for the rights of everyone including black Americans all the time and has done so her whole life.

Americans have free speech for a reason. It's healthy, it vents, and people not only should have that right, we do have that right, and we're going to hear all types of ugly speech all day long if we listen and there's going to be hateful, hurtful speech all over the place. We can't cancel people's jobs, careers and contracts over what they say on their time whether it's at home in the living room or on a personal twitter. If we did, there would be no jobs, no careers and no contracts left.

Besides, no one is better at insulting politicians they don't like than black comedians.

It, like many "offensive words" is defined as offensive by those looking to be offended. That leaves us in the position of bowing to their "sensitivity" or standing our ground and maintaining standard definitions. I mean some women are now "offended" by the use of "man" and in "MANkind", "MANpower" and "MANafort" . Do we change everything to cater to the lowest common denominator?

"Mr. Warmth"! He insulted anybody. It wasn't/isn't racist. He is Jewish, but would insult Blacks, whites, Jews, Hispanics, anybody.

While Roseanne's persona would scare me away, that quirkiness plays off the other characters in her show. In a way, it was like Archie Bunker "The loveable bigot"! We don't like what they say, but we enjoy laughing at them.

And many comedians aren't what we would call "normal". Robin Williams was one who has personal problems hidden behind his comedy. Many comedians are the result of problems they hide behind their quirky behavior.
