State Attorney declines to file charges on man who allegedly stole 42 cents from fountain

The State Attorney’s Office announced on Friday that it declined to file charges against a man who allegedly stole 42 cents from a fountain at Coastand Center mall.

Still Laslo Mujzer, a 43-year-old immigrant from Hungary who lives in Bonita Springs, didn’t get off scot-free.

After being held in Collier County jail since his Monday arrest at the cost of $88.18 per day, Mujzer was released into the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Karie Partington said.

“Based on the facts and circumstances of this incident and the nature of this incident, the State Attorney’s Office has decided that any further prosecution or action is not warranted,â€
