You know it should begin dawning on governments and halo-polishers that very different cultures cannot just be thrown together and not expect some immediate problems.

If countries are going to try to blend such different cultures, then there should be some indoctrination/education for the new culture. There should be a definite spelling out of the expectations - such as learning the laws and obeying them, and respecting the hosting culture.

It seems all the education is telling the hosting culture how they should be tolerant, accepting, etc., and not demanding anything from the new culture.

To just throw them together is ridiculous - but why do I think it produces the desired outcome - not one of a harmonious society.
