WFTV's Barbara West on her interview with Joe Biden: "I don't think I was rude or inconsiderate to him"

The veteran WFTV-Channel 9 anchor-reporter says she asked pointed questions and respects Sen. Biden, who is Sen. Obama's running mate.

In a call to me Friday evening, West (pictured) said of Biden: "I have a great deal of respect for him. I have a great deal of respect for Sen. Obama. We are given four minutes of a satellite window for these interviews. Four precious minutes. I got right down to it and, yes, I think I asked him some pointed questions. These are questions that are rolling about right now and questions that need to be asked. I don't think I was rude or inconsiderate to him. I think I was probing and maybe tough. I can't believe that in all of his years in politics, and all of his campaigning and such, that he hasn't run into some tough questions before. He's certainly up to it in giving good answers."

This is very interesting input. She did get a lot into 4 minutes!!!

This whole Obama thing frightens me. He is a communist in my eyes. With his distribution of wealth and censoring of the media reminds of the stories I heard from my parents and grandparents. They fled the former Soviet Union when Stalin was the leader. It also sounds like the stories I heard from some of the Cubans. With the unknown sources of campaign donations and Obama wanting to talk to Castro just makes it even more frightening. I don't want to see the United States become communist.

I was in russia in 1991, the end of the "Cold War". I saw what 40 years of communism did for people first hand. It is a frightening thought for my children and grandchildren.

isnt it a sham that the obama camp has cancelled any and all interviews with that TV station because they didnt like the TOUGH QUESTIONS.

i commend the lady asking questions because these are questions that america would ask if they had the chance, and the fact that the obama people say they are tough... well, TOO DAMN BAD, SO SAD

Actually, I didn't think Biden handled the situation very well and he was defensive, which means there is some truth to the questioning.

She did an excellent job of questioning Senator Biden. He certainly did not like it. The tactics taken toward Sarah Palin, and the frequent attempts at "catch ya" questions in interviews with her seem acceptable, but hard questioning of the Obama/Biden team seems inappropriate.

I saw this on Fox News this morning. Good for her. They think its just fine to sandbag Sarah Palin but when it happens to the good ole boy its not so nice. Actually it was a good viable question. Now they have canceled Biden's wife interview with the station. People think Bush shut things down, just wait folks. Now we find out Joe the Plumber's information has been hacked in government computers. I saw that on Cavuto yesterday. Yep, you ask a question you get an answer that outs you and the guy who asked the question get's his privacy invaded and people were worried about the Patriot Act? Obama is just dangerous.

We were watching the same segment Gogo. The majority of people are clueless in what is really going to happen if Senator Obama becomes President. Between the current situation with the economy and suppression by the government in speech, etc. if Obama wins, we may be looking at a new America, with a slam dunk Congress to push the welfare, socialist nation forward. There is so much fraud, so much being excused and ignored, and the millions of voices of the American people who want to preserve our great nation keep being ignored.

I saw a funny picture today of the Canadian border. Cars lined up and a sign that said, "Obama won! Welcome to Canada."
