WAA photo by Joseph Andrew Lee. This years sunrise ceremony will take place on Saturday December 8th, and the Escort Convoy will leave Harrington, Maine on the morning of December 9th.

A New York crowd waves flags and cheers for Marines as they marched in the annual Veterans Day parade in New York, Nov. 11, 2012. Since Nov. 11, 1919, the parade has provided an opportunity for Americans and international visitors in the nation's largest city to honor those who have served. Here is another memory from the Escort to Arlington for 2011. This sculpture at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial is literally larger than life and seemed to come to life in the rain. Jill Stephenson (left) and Candy Martin, both Gold Star Mothers, experienced this scene for the first time.
