Mitt Romney: The perfect "decoy" candidate.

    Ron Paul 2012

So, how silly will the Obama campaign feel when they realize they've been duped?... Here's the deal:

Mitt Romney is the GOP's "decoy" candidate. The GOP needed someone that the heavily populated GOP establishment would blindly get behind. The media bought it hook, line, and sinker, and fortunately, so did the Obama campaign. Mitt won popular vote after popular vote and the media kept beating the drum in order for him to gain momentum, but in the words of Admiral Akbar, "It's a trap!". With the Obama campaign believing that Mitt would be the nominee, it began sinking it's campaign resources into defeating Mitt pretty early in the process... and now they're going at him full-force. Little did the Obama camp know that a few sly folks embedded in the GOP had devised a plan way back in 2010 that would alter the fate of the 2012 general election. The Obama camp will have spent millions attacking the wrong guy by August when they will realize that Romney isn't the nominee. This will inevitably send the Obama camp into a frenzy at the last minute resulting in pure chaos. For several months they will have thought they were going up against an establishment GOP puppet with no true contrast to Obama's policies, only to find out that they are now faced with a contender who threatens to draw away their much needed youth vote. The Obama camp will panic as soon as it notices it must go up against a challenger who is adamantly pro-civil liberties, anti-war, anti-drug war, anti-patriot act, etc. It is expected that Obama will then begin seeking votes from the neo-conservative crowd by touting his foreign policy "achievements", but it won't be enough to stop Dr. Ron Paul.

Now, this is all pure speculation on my part. I'm just painting a potential picture of what may actually be occurring. Sure, Romney could be just another John McCain or Bob Dole, but something leads me to believe that things are different this time around and that the rumored "backroom deal" between Romney and Paul might actually be the very strategy that I speak of. Stranger things have happened.

Be sure to thank Mitt for being such a great decoy and don't forget to thank the media for building him up for us. They've done a wonderful job. Now let's get out there and keep pushing for more delegates! The plan only works if YOU work!'

Mainstream Media Blackout of Ron Paul Momentum

    Ron Paul 2012

    Florida

We have been swayed for too long now by the talking heads of cable news. We've opened our eyes and realized that we've been hypnotized by them and the sweet-lipped corporate politicians. We've been distracted and divided with our differences of religious, civil and political beliefs. Slowly we've allowed ourselves to be robbed of our liberty through their deceit and coercion. This once republican conservative is now "independent" and tired of the politics and tired of the politicians. Enough is enough!

I would give my life to see Ron Paul in the White House! I have been disenfranchised and even abused as a small business owner by intrusive government and its overburdening small business regulation and taxation. I endorse Paul because he represents what this country was founded on "Liberty" personal choice and personal responsibility. Limited government with a strong defensive military, no IRS, no Federal Reserve and no Board of Education. I am convinced that Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both represent the status quo "BIG INTRUSIVE GOVERNMENT". We as Americans are a tenacious and vibrant people, we've known liberty and we've known freedom and we will soon have it back! Listen up Washington, Listen up FOX, CNN and CNBC, Mainstreet America now questions your credibility, we no longer take you at your word. Like an old over burdened dam, cracks are opening up in your wall and the waters of truth are starting to pass through. Soon it will break then honesty and liberty will return!

Someone likes Ron Paul — a lot!

    Posted on | May 7, 2012 | 3 Comments

Someone in the Redlands/San Bernardino area sure likes Ron Paul, the dark horse GOP presidential candidate.

A gigantic Ron Paul banner has been flying in a vacant lot next to the Arthur Murray studio on Orangetree Lane in Redlands. Visible to motorists on nearby Interstate 10, it’s even lit up at night with strings of clip-on spotlights.

Whoever the fan is also spent some money getting Paul’s face on a full-color electronic reader board farther west along I-10 in San Berdoo.
And now Ron Paul yard signs are popping up.

The Republican is the last holdout in the GOP primary against presumptive nominee Mitt Romney, the man nobody loves to like.

For those who are newcomers to Ron Paul's camp and/or are not familiar with the past history of our movement, see the May 15, 2007 video clip linked down below.

PS: Please enjoy this clip for what it is - long time friends of Ron and Carol paying recognition to Ron for his tremendous contribution to the movement, thanking him in a beautiful way, and reminding us that there is a very important anniversary in the Ron Paul movement coming up on May 15th. I did not post it for political purposes or to start a GOP vs Lp argument. I posted it because Ron Paul deserves to know the gratitude that so many people hold in their hearts for him and what he has accomplished.

Big Wins in Maine and Nevada

There’s a number of mainstream news sources reporting on Ron Paul getting a majority of the delegates in both Maine and Nevada this weekend. The Paul folks in both states should be very proud of themselves today. I’m certainly proud of them. Here’s a story from the Christian Science Monitor:

Ron Paul wins big in Maine and Nevada

Ron Paul’s presidential strategy is working – at least it did in Maine and Nevada Sunday, where he won the most number of delegates at state party conventions.

If most Republicans and pundits consider Mitt Romney the all-but-nominated champion to take on Barack Obama in this year’s presidential election, Rep. Paul’s army of enthusiastic and determined backers beg to differ.

In fact, they’re not begging at all but pounding at the gates of conventional political thinking…

Over the weekend, his supporters took control of the Maine Republican Convention, electing a majority slate of delegates.

In Nevada Paul forces did likewise, winning their man 22 delegates, compared to three for Romney…

Paul backers say delegates will abide by those rules in the first round of balloting at the national convention in Tampa, the AP reported Sunday. But all bets are off if there is more than one round of balloting, and it remains to be seen whether the Romney campaign or Republican National Committee will challenge Nevada’s delegate results…

In any case, Paul’s Nevada chairman Carl Bunce told the Las Vegas Sun, “We are sending a strong delegation to Tampa in August.”

(Romney) can’t risk alienating Paul supporters between now and the Republican convention by trying to force them or their determined libertarian leader into silence.

“I think he’s being very careful because he knows how important the Ron Paul voters are – they obviously represent a very different dynamic,” Mike Dennehy, a former top aide to Republican John McCain’s 2008 campaign, told the AP. “They are the most passionate and the most frustrated of any voters heading to the polls. And many of them are independents.”

In Case You Missed It: Ron Paul Makes RNC Delegate Gains, Party Inroads in Maine

“It’s certainly a significant victory,” said Jim Azzola of South Portland, Cumberland County coordinator for Paul.

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – Supporters of 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul made notable inroads into Maine’s GOP infrastructure and secured a majority of delegates to the Republican National Convention to be held in August in Tampa, the AP reports.

Paul wins majority of delegates from Maine GOP

    By Glenn Adams, Associated Press

AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — With Mitt Romney’s nomination all but decided, Ron Paul supporters wrested control of the Maine Republican Convention and elected a majority slate supporting the Texas congressman to the GOP national convention, party officials said as the two-day convention neared its end Sunday. The results gave the Texas congressman a late state victory.

The names of 15 at-large delegates from Maine to the GOP nominating convention in Tampa, Fla., were posted Sunday as votes for the other delegation seats remained undecided. Maine is allotted a total of 24 delegates to the national convention.

“It’s certainly a significant victory,” said Jim Azzola of South Portland, Cumberland County coordinator for Paul. The votes were to become finalized when the convention closes.
Paul, the last challenger to remain in the contest, finished a close second behind Romney in Maine’s GOP caucuses in February but those results were nonbinding. Not everyone, however, had a chance to cast a ballot before the results were announced. A snowstorm forced the cancellation of some caucuses including one in a Paul stronghold.
Romney won the February straw poll with 39 percent of the vote to Paul’s 36 percent. Santorum trailed with 18 percent and Gingrich got 6 percent.

Romney’s aides say they do not view Paul as a threat to winning the nomination. But Romney and his team have also been mindful not to do or say anything that might anger Paul’s loyal supporters.

“I think he’s being very careful because he knows how important the Ron Paul voters are — they obviously represent a very different dynamic,” said Mike Dennehy, a former top aide to Republican John McCain’s 2008 campaign. “They are the most passionate and the most frustrated of any voters heading to the polls. And many of them are independents.”

    “Getting” Ron Paul

Most journalists simply don’t get Ron Paul. A big part of it is journalists not being able to understand anything other than what they’ve been taught to understand, which in politics amounts to little more than the horserace before them. Journalists understand how to cover a conventional campaign. They really don’t know what to do with a movement. Plus, they can be pretty lazy. Trust me.

In his review of Reason’s Brian Doherty’s book on Dr. Paul, James Antle makes some keen observations concerning Ron Paul and media coverage at Real Clear Books:

Brian Doherty aside, most reporters don’t know what to make of Ron Paul. This observation isn’t simply a clichéd swipe at the “drive-by media” or the dinosaurs of the dreaded “MSM.” To the working press, from the Red Bull-addled gumshoes at Internet start-ups to grizzled veterans of the campaign trail, Paul’s two Republican presidential bids simply do not compute.

This only partly due to liberal bias, the smothering conventional wisdom that sees no practical difference between restoring the Constitution and returning the powdered wig to its proper place in American fashion. Gold standard? Letters of marque and reprisal? Mainstream media eyes glaze over…

The biggest problem is that there is no easy media narrative for what Paul is doing. The success or failure of most presidential campaigns is determined by two simple metrics: winning the nomination and winning the White House. Whatever his principled disagreements with Mitt Romney, when Rick Santorum suspended his presidential campaign, that was all she wrote. There is no generation of Rick Santorum Republicans ready to run in his place. When John Kerry came up short in Ohio against George W. Bush in 2004, he became yesterday’s news…

(But Paul) is still attracting crowds that number in the thousands on the stump. His online money bombs raise millions of dollars even as this late stage of the campaign. Most importantly, his supporters are crowding Republican state conventions and district meetings. The result is that Paul is accumulating a surprising number of delegates…

The Ron Paul forces are still giving the Republican establishment fits months after their campaign was presumed dead. They took 16 out of 19 delegates allocated by congressional district caucuses in Romney’s home state of Massachusetts. Paulites even denied a delegate slot to Romney’s former lieutenant governor. Delegate-wise, Paul may turn out to be the winner in Iowa after all. The state GOP will be chaired by Paul supporters in both Iowa and Alaska.

Paul’s legacy includes dozens of Ron Paul Republicans, the most successful being his son Rand Paul, the junior senator from Kentucky, and the up-and-coming young Michigan Congressman Justin Amash. This is what makes Paul so hard for the media to cover: he is clearly having a bigger long-term impact than the 1972 John Ashbrook presidential campaign, but movement-building doesn’t fit neatly into the horserace mentality of most political journalism.

Doherty ends his book with an exchange between Paul and an ABC News reporter. What would Paul do to improve his poll numbers? “I don’t change my message,” Paul replied. He then followed up with what Doherty describes as “that slightly hesitant Ron Paul thoughtfulness”: “I change minds.”

Ron Paul is changing the Republican Party right before our very eyes.
